As autumn deepens, are you longing to escape from home?
Recent festivals are making autumn travel even more enriching.
I recently visited a festival to fully enjoy autumn: the Dangjin Drone Light Show and Dance Music Festival. I traveled to Dangjin by Seohae Line train, with the support of Good Travel 6952, Dangjin City, and Korea Railroad. Let's dive into the exciting atmosphere!
The 2025 Dangjin Drone Light Show starts on September 6th and has its last performance on November 1st. It's already the finale, so I rushed to visit.
Every Saturday, the fantastic performance of over 1,000 drones illuminating the night sky of Sapgyoho Seaside Park is a must-see.
Dangjin Drone Light Show
Address: 24, Sapgyocheon3-gil, Sinpyeong-myeon, Dangjin-si, Chungcheongnam-do (Area of Sapgyoho Tourist Site Seaside Park)
Operating Period: 2025.09.06 ~ 2025.11.01, 7 PM
Each drone formation creating artwork above the Seaside Park was truly moving. The performance felt short because it was so dazzling and beautiful.
Parking Information
After an early dinner, I headed to Sapgyoho Seaside Park, where the drone show was held.
The parking lot closest to the venue was already full. However, there was a large parking lot nearby where I could park. Parking attendants were near the festival area to guide parking. It was a bit of a walk, but manageable.
Walking while enjoying the sights of the Sapgyoho Tourist Complex made the journey quick.
Exploring Sapgyoho Seaside Park
Signposts were installed along the way, making it easy to find. Alternatively, following the crowd also led to the festival grounds. A large banner announcing the day's festival was at the entrance. Various performances are held every weekend, perfect to see before the main drone show.
As darkness fell, the park was illuminated by lights. With time to spare, I explored the park further.
The path towards Sapgyoho Amusement Park on the opposite side of the park was brightly lit by shop signs. After looking around, I went to the amusement park. It was open at night because it was the weekend.
Pamphlets and gifts were handed out at the entrance. I happily took an Oranda cracker and took a commemorative photo. I also took photos with the Seaside Park sculptures and enjoyed the night view.
The distant Ferris wheel caught my eye. I decided to visit it briefly before the main event.
Sapgyoho Amusement Park Night Opening
It was easy to find as the road was connected across the street.
Shops densely packed in the alleyways were welcoming customers. The lively atmosphere made me truly feel like I was on a trip.
It's been a while since I've been to an amusement park, especially at night. The lights were so beautiful that I couldn't resist.
There were great photo zones, and it was even prettier at night. The sounds of laughter everywhere brought a smile to my face.
Dance Music Festival
Many people came to see the Dance Music Festival held in the park's main hall. Most people had prepared mats in advance and were sitting together with their families to watch. Impromptu talent shows and dance battles provided fun and laughter for everyone.
Invited singers also performed. BB Girls' stage made the atmosphere even hotter.
Drone Light Show
An announcement signaled the start via speakers. A mass movement began as everyone watching at the main stage moved towards the lake. I arrived a little early and luckily secured a spot in the front row. The show starts at 7 PM, so arriving 10 minutes early allows you to see it from the front.
It was amazing to see not just static images but also three-dimensional movements vividly expressed. Cheers erupted from everywhere each time the formations changed.
The drones emitting colorful lights in the dark night sky were spectacular. I watched intently, not wanting to miss their movements to the exciting music.
Until the end of the performance, everyone expressed their admiration for the beauty in the sky in their own way: some with cheers, some with exclamations, and some with emotion.
The Dangjin Drone Light Show is free to watch.
There is no admission fee. And the weekend performances are also free.
The last performance is on November 1st, so if you haven't been yet, be sure to see the final show this week.
