Experience the Joy of Tomato Harvesting at Jecheon Red Heroes Tomato Farm

The Jecheon Red Heroes Tomato Farm is currently offering a little chef experience.
Located at 436 Cheonnam-dong, Jecheon City, Chungbuk Province, the farm is a part of the smart farm initiative.
Reservations are mandatory and can be made through the Fruitte website.
Fruitte was created to support local farmers, providing a platform for various experiences including harvesting crops, feeding animals, and craft activities.
This initiative is suitable for families with young children, couples in their 20s and 30s looking for unique date ideas, and middle-aged couples seeking relaxation in nature.
Fruitte has been featured in a case study on improving the quality of life for agricultural residents, revitalizing the lives of local farmers, and offering seasonal programs that delight visitors.
The Fruitte website showcases rural tourism programs from various regions.
The cherry tomato farm is a new experience for both children and adults alike.
Vibrant cherry tomatoes in red, yellow, green, and dark red hues can be observed.
Children can directly harvest cherry tomatoes by color.
Kids can enjoy eating the tomatoes while harvesting, making it a fun activity even for those who might not usually like tomatoes.
They also took a commemorative photo while riding the tomato train.
After harvesting, they headed to the cooking class location with their fresh produce and healthy vegetables.
They listened to the instructor's explanation and had the chance to touch and cut healthy ingredients.
Children experienced making healthy sandwiches by placing ingredients themselves.
Using unrefined sugar and tomatoes provided by the instructor, kids even made basil syrup.
The sandwiches made by the children were a huge success!
They also enjoyed munching on the leftover tomatoes.
The hands-on experience allowed kids to feel the texture of tomatoes and create their own sandwiches.
The fruits and vegetables they chose were taken home to encourage making sandwiches there as well, along with a heavy load of cherry tomatoes.
Jecheon is part of a pilot project that refunds half of the travel expenses for visiting areas with declining rural populations.
This program allows travelers to receive 50% of their travel expenses back in mobile local love gift certificates, usable at local merchants and online stores.
Travelers must apply for travel plans in advance and submit proof of expenses after the trip.
Details vary by region, so check the 'Discover Korea' website for eligible areas and support availability.
This program runs from April, making it a great option for spring travel in Chungbuk.
