With food, sights, and activities all in one place, it’s a great spot to take a break before or after exploring the Hongju Fortress area.
One of the biggest advantages of the Hongju Millennium Cultural Experience Center is the free rental of traditional hanbok (Korean clothing). The rental space is located on the second floor and offers sizes for adults and children, making it convenient for family visitors.
Rental hours for the hanbok are from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and it is recommended to finish your visit by 5:00 PM for the return process.
Visitors can wear the hanbok for a maximum of two hours and must leave an ID as a deposit to borrow the clothing.
Accessories such as hair ornaments and hats are also provided, enhancing the traditional experience as visitors stroll along the fortress walls.
The hanbok is well-maintained and clean, and wearing white innerwear or comfortable clothing underneath will make it look more polished.
Visitors should note that the hanbok can only be worn within the Hongju Fortress area, and moving outside the fortress is restricted. Food and drink are not allowed inside the experience center, and in case of damage to the hanbok, restrictions may apply.
The Hongju Millennium Cultural Experience Center is the perfect starting point to deeply engage with the history and culture of Hongseong.
As you explore the area around Hongju Fortress, you will naturally feel the stories of Hongseong, which have been passed down for a thousand years, blend into the everyday landscape.
If you are planning a family outing, school field trip, or historical education travel, visiting the Hongju Millennium Cultural Experience Center is highly recommended as the first stop on your itinerary.
