Geochang Wolseong Space Creative Science Museum
Address: 1312-96, Deogyuwolseong-ro, Buksan-myeon, Geochang-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do
Hello! Today, I'd like to introduce the Geochang Wolseong Space Creative Science Museum.
1st Floor: Astronaut Hall
The Astronaut Hall on the 1st floor is designed with the concept of 'Become an astronaut and reach space!' It's a space where you can understand the structure and function of real spacesuits and experience the feeling of being an astronaut by trying on an AR spacesuit.
Observe life-size spacesuit models, touch the surfaces of spacesuits made of various materials to vividly experience their structure and function, and discover hidden secrets of spacesuits through holograms.
Augmented Reality (AR) Spacesuit
You can try on a spacesuit through augmented reality and send a photo of yourself in the spacesuit via text message (E-mail). I also tried on a spacesuit.
This photo zone is reminiscent of a real astronaut. Anyone, young or old, can capture a memorable moment.
Observe the sizes and characteristics of each planet and satellite in three dimensions through a stereoscopic model that allows you to see the solar system's celestial bodies at a glance.
You can also use the space scale to see how your weight changes on different celestial bodies in the solar system. By comparing your weight on Earth with your weight on the Moon, Mars, Jupiter, etc., you can get a much more realistic sense of how the size of gravity affects our bodies.
Seeing how the numbers change significantly depending on the planet, even though it's the same body, made the concept of 'gravity' feel like a real experience rather than just a theory in a textbook.
Virtual Reality (VR) Moonwalk (Paid)
The VR Moonwalk experience is offered for a fee, and participants can enjoy an immersive experience of walking on the lunar surface and completing various missions.
- Height restriction (130㎝ or more)
- Weight limit (30kg~70kg)
- Entry is not allowed without a guide.
- Entry is not allowed while the experience equipment is in operation.
This is a variable gravity device that simulates the gravitational changes and acceleration felt by astronauts during a spacecraft launch. This device uses centrifugal force generated by rapid rotation around a central axis to create a strong gravitational force, simulating actual 'G-force training'.
To overcome Earth's gravity and fly into space, rockets need a very large increase in speed instantaneously. Through this experience, you can indirectly feel the gravitational changes that occur to the body during that process.
Virtual Reality (VR) Space Flight (Paid)
Using virtual reality technology, you can vividly experience piloting a spacecraft in an environment similar to the real one.
2nd Floor: Space Exploration Hall
The Space Exploration Hall on the 2nd floor is designed with the concept of 'Become an astronaut and carry out space missions!' You can have a unique space experience by becoming an astronaut to repair the space station and complete the Mars base construction mission.
Dancing Robot Performance
Watch a 10-minute robot dance performance in which humanoid mini-robots resembling humans perform dynamic dances to music.
Robot Dance Performance Schedule - 11:00, 14:00, 16:00, 17:20 (10-minute performance)
In the Mars base construction mission experience, users can directly carry out the Mars base construction mission by placing various Mars base modules through a touch screen. In addition, in the Mars exploration mission, you can select and directly control various Mars exploration robots through racing, and experience scientific exploration by carrying out missions to collect Martian rock and soil samples.
Balance Sensory Experience (Paid Experience)
This device is designed as a astronaut training experience device to realistically experience various motor skills and changes in direction sense in outer space through infinite rotation.
Experience walking in space.
Creative Hall
This is a space for various creative science experience education.
The Geochang Wolseong Space Creative Science Museum was an experiential science museum where both children and adults could enjoy and learn, from spacesuit AR experiences to VR space flight experiences, space scales, and robot dance performances.
Beyond simply viewing exhibitions, I was able to become an astronaut myself and feel the moon and planets with my body, making it a valuable time to get closer to space and science.
