Hello!

This is the Korea Tourism Travel Newspaper.

Today,

we're introducing the

'Jeongwol Daeboreum Folk Festival'

held in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul!

The Jeongwol Daeboreum Folk Festival is a local festival held annually at the Anyangcheon Stream Park in Yangcheon-gu.

It aims to preserve traditional culture by showcasing various programs and offering a range of hands-on experiences.

Let's take a closer look at what the festival has to offer!

Date: February 8, 2025 (Saturday) 3 PM onwards

Now, let's explore what's in store for the 23rd Jeongwol Daeboreum Folk Festival!

# Experience Events

First up are the experience events.

There are nine types of experience programs available:

Rice cake pounding, Bureom (nuts) cracking, kite flying, top spinning,

Yutnori (traditional board game), Jwibulnori (fire game), Neolttwigi (Korean plank jumping), Tuho (arrow throwing), and wish writing.

We hope you enjoy these fun activities and learn about their meanings, such as Bureom cracking, which is believed to prevent skin troubles and strengthen teeth for the year!

# Performance Events

Next are the performance events.

There will be an opening ceremony and performance, as well as performances by local cultural arts groups.

The local cultural arts groups will present various traditional art performances, including tightrope walking, Gilnori (street parade), Pansori (Korean opera),

folk songs, Korean dance, and Pungmulnori (Korean percussion).

Enjoy the festival while watching these visually and aurally delightful performances!

# Moon Gazing Event

The highlight of the Jeongwol Daeboreum Folk Festival is the moon gazing event!

The moon gazing event includes Daljip Taeugi (moon house burning), Ganggangsullae (Korean circle dance),

Jisin Balbgi (earth god treading), and fireworks.

Among these four events, we especially recommend participating in Daljip Taeugi, which is believed to ward off bad luck and bring good fortune.

We hope you thoroughly enjoy the Jeongwol Daeboreum Folk Festival!

With 3 main events and 15 smaller attractions,

we invite those who are interested or live nearby to participate in the 23rd Jeongwol Daeboreum Folk Festival

and have a joyful Jeongwol Daeboreum!
