Enjoying a Worry-Free Trip to Cheonan: A Guide to the 'Starlight Tour'

Enjoying a worry-free trip to Cheonan!
Guide to the night view tour 'Starlight Tour'
For the first time in a while, I decided to go out on a weekend instead of a Wednesday.
Today, I experienced the program 'Starlight Tour' held to celebrate the year of visiting Cheonan.
It was around 6:30 PM when I began to see a long line forming in front of the Cheonan City Hall, with the Cheonan Citizens' Bell in the background.
The fare is 4,000 won for adults, which is about the same as taking a bus for 2.5 rides. Considering the variety of places you can visit, it doesn't feel too expensive.
Information about each stop and departure times can be found in the booklet provided with the boarding pass, as well as on the official Cheonan City social media.
This time, perhaps due to a high number of users, the buses seemed to operate at intervals of a little less than 20 minutes.
The first stop was Wonsongcheon after letting the previous line go. Although it was getting dark after dinner, it was quite crowded, as it is famous for cherry blossom viewing.
Illuminations were placed under the cherry blossom trees along Wonsongcheon, and various stalls selling balloons and snacks lined the riverbank, filling the area with music from speakers.
After taking some photos and enjoying the scenery at Wonsongcheon, I got back on the bus and arrived at the newly renovated Cheonan Samgeori Park.
As soon as I got off, I was drawn to the enormous screen showing 'Howl's Moving Castle.' During the event period, a variety of movies suitable for all ages were screened.
Even without a movie screen, the tiered seating and bean bags scattered throughout the park provide perfect spots for watching performances or resting. The spacious layout is enjoyable just for strolling around.
As expected from a park, there are plenty of places to sit, including tables with roofs, making it ideal for relaxing or snacking.
There are also sculptures and lights that appear to be made from upcycled materials, making it fun to explore like a hidden picture hunt.
There are photo zones featuring the characters Nubi and Towa from the Starlight Tour. Seeing that they also lend out blankets featuring the characters makes me hopeful for the development of various merchandise.
No local festival would be complete without food trucks. You can find a variety of food trucks offering chicken, steak, and drinks. Given the size of the park, there's also a convenience store where you can find a wide range of food and beverages.
Like Wonsongcheon, I particularly liked the lights shining on the trees. When artificial elements are added to natural ones, it doesn't feel awkward or out of place; rather, it creates a beautiful combination.
After starting at 6 PM and wandering around, it was already past 9 PM.
As I returned to the bus boarding line, I noticed a significant number of people who arrived before me, indicating the success of this program.
Watching the fountain performance at Samgeori Park from the waiting line, even though it was a chilly evening, it seems like it will be a wonderful sight to cool down the heat of summer as it approaches.
Returning to the starting point at Cheonan City Hall, it was already past 10 PM. It's great to be able to go directly to places I've wanted to visit for just a few thousand won, and even better that I can enjoy a beer without having to drive.
I hope this excellent program continues to be well-supported and developed.
