Dangjin City is hosting a Seafood Black Friday event at Sapgyoho and other representative ports for two weeks in November! On November 8th, 9th, 15th, and 16th, customers who purchase domestic seafood will receive up to 20% back as Dangjin Sarang (Love) Gift Certificates.

Come and enjoy the beautiful Dangjin sea while purchasing affordable domestic seafood.

The Black Friday event will take place at three of Dangjin's major tourist destinations: Sapgyoho, Janggo Port, and Hanjin Port. When traveling from the Seoul metropolitan area, you can reach Sapgyoho, Hanjin Port, and Janggo Port by crossing the Seohae Bridge or the Sapgyoho Seawall, following the seawall and coastal roads.

Enjoy the beautiful Dangjin sea with Sapgyoho Marine Park, Janggo Port's coastal promenade, and Hanjin Port's deck path.

I visited Sapgyoho Tourist Site. At the entrance of Sapgyoho, a Black Friday banner was hung, and event posters were placed everywhere. During Black Friday, all customers who purchase domestic seafood at participating stores in Sapgyoho, Janggo Port, and Hanjin Port will receive Dangjin Sarang Gift Certificates worth a minimum of ₩5,000 to a maximum of ₩20,000 for purchases of ₩25,000 to over ₩100,000.

The event posters also provide information on the refund locations for each port. In the case of Sapgyoho Tourist Site, there were two locations: Sapgyoho Battleship Park and the Dangjin Agri-Food Producers' Direct Market.

The refund amounts are as follows: ₩5,000 for purchases of ₩25,000 or more, ₩10,000 for purchases of ₩50,000 or more, ₩15,000 for purchases of ₩75,000 or more, and ₩20,000 for purchases of ₩100,000 or more.

Please note that restaurant usage and non-seafood items are excluded. Only seafood purchases at seafood direct market stores are eligible.

In the Dangjin seaside, there is a seafood direct market where you can buy fresh seafood. In the case of Sapgyoho Tourist Site, the Marine Seafood Market, Sapgyoho Seafood Market, and Sapgyoho Observatory General Fish Market are concentrated.

It is located between the Marine Park, the sea deck road, the Ferris wheel, and the raw fish restaurant shopping district.

I visited the General Fish Market. It is located at the entrance of Sapgyoho Tourist Site, which leads to Battleship Park, between the parking lot and the marine park.

Before making a purchase, it was essential to check whether the store was participating in the event, and almost all stores were participating. The General Fish Market is full of salted seafood and fresh seafood.

The General Fish Market has everything from domestic seasonal seafood, salted seafood, dried seafood, and fish that seem to have come from the open sea. November's seasonal seafood includes oysters, mussels, cockles, scallops, sea cucumbers, jumbo shrimp, gizzard shad, and shrimp.

However, due to the characteristics of the West Sea, there are many blue crabs, shrimp, octopus, jumbo shrimp, and shellfish such as scallops. There are also sliced raw fish such as eel, flounder, and rockfish.

The seafood, packed in each container, looked very fresh even to the average person. They were jumping out of the fish tank, containing clear seawater, and some were chilled on cold ice to keep them fresh.

While looking around, I wanted to buy a lot of things. Dangjin City's Seafood Black Friday also includes fresh seafood such as sliced raw fish and grilled fish, salted seafood, and dried seafood stores, so there was a wide range of choices.

I bought shrimp, which my family likes the most. I was tempted by the jumbo shrimp, but I chose fresh shrimp because they said they were only frozen. They filled an icebox with ice and packaged it fresh. There was no individual charge.

After purchasing, I headed to the refund office. There are a total of two refund offices in Sapgyoho Tourist Site. One is on the first floor of the Dangjin Agri-Food Producers' Direct Market, where the Sinpyeong Nonghyup Local Food Happiness Market is located, and the other is in the office located in the passage on the first floor of Battleship Park.

It was easy to find because an X banner was installed to announce the refund office.

After filling out a simple consent form for the refund, the Dangjin Sarang Gift Certificate is issued on the spot. Refund is available from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Please visit with your seafood purchase receipt. Dangjin City Seafood Black Friday, which started on November 8th, has two days left this weekend, November 15th and 16th. If you purchase more than ₩100,000, you will receive a maximum refund of ₩20,000, allowing you to purchase seafood at a very affordable price.

Hanjin Port and Janggo Port are also held simultaneously with Sapgyoho Tourist Site. In the case of Hanjin Port, there is a fish market at the entrance, and Janggo Port also has a seafood direct market at the entrance with sea caves and a candlestick rock.

I recommend the autumn sea with Dangjin's seafood this weekend.

Real Korea, Curated for Global Travelers

WassupKorea is a next-generation platform designed for foreigners who want to truly experience Korea — not just as tourists, but as locals. While countless Koreans have shared their daily lives, food experiences, and cultural tips through blogs, videos, and social media, much of this valuable content remains locked behind language barriers. WassupKorea solves this by collecting and curating high-quality local content and making it accessible to global audiences through real-time AI-powered translation. Instead of superficial recommendations, users gain access to authentic, first-hand stories — from hidden street food spots to weekend mountain hikes — written by Koreans for Koreans, now reinterpreted for the world.

AI-Powered Personalization, Translation, and Voice Interaction

What sets WassupKorea apart is its deep integration of artificial intelligence at the core of the platform. AI matches users with personalized content based on their language, nationality, and travel interests. Whether you're looking for vegan Korean food in Jeonju or part-time job tips in Seoul, the platform's smart engine brings the most relevant, timely posts to the forefront. Every piece of content — blog summaries, local guides, user comments — is instantly translated using advanced AI translators. Users can also listen to posts via natural-sounding voice AI in their own language. Real-time voice translation in community chats allows for live conversations between users from different countries. With voice synthesis, AI can even "learn" your voice preferences to create a more natural and immersive experience.

A Living Community Driven by Local Content and Global Connection

WassupKorea is more than just an information portal — it’s an AI-driven community hub that grows smarter as users interact. Travelers and residents alike can share their own content via links from TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube, or directly post on the platform. AI categorizes the content, suggests similar posts, and connects users with shared interests. Foreigners living in Korea can also access essential resources like visa tips, rental guides, job listings, and lifestyle hacks. As more content is generated and more interactions occur, the AI refines its recommendations — creating a dynamic feedback loop that benefits every user. WassupKorea bridges the gap between Korea’s deep local knowledge and the global audience eager to explore it, forming a smart, multilingual, and inclusive platform for everyone curious about life in Korea.
