Enhancing Local Peanut Processing in Sinan County

On the 3rd of this month,
Sinan County visited the recently completed
peanut processing facility in Jaeun-do
to strengthen field-centered communication administration.
We inspected the operational status and distribution system
of the processing facility.
Jaeun-do peanuts are cultivated in a clean marine environment
and fertile sandy soil,
resulting in large, light, and delicious regional specialties.
They are recognized for their excellent quality among peanut enthusiasts.
As of 2025, 20 farms are producing about 90 tons annually
on an area of 29 hectares,
with the cultivation area continuously expanding.
Sinan County aims to leverage the premium peanut brand value
to promote high-income generation in the region.
Through a national funding project,
we secured a total project budget of 4.5 billion won.
Based on this, we started construction of a 705㎡ peanut processing facility
in Jaeun-do in May 2024, aiming for completion in December 2025.
Afterwards, we signed a contract with Crazy Peanut Co., Ltd.,
a specialized peanut processing company,
and began full-scale operations in January this year.
Currently, Crazy Peanut Co., Ltd. produces various processed products
such as roasted peanuts, peanut butter, and peanut oil.
These products are sold through online distribution channels
like Naver and Coupang.
Using Sinan peanuts as the main ingredient,
we aim to produce 50 to 60 tons of processed products annually,
establishing a win-win structure through contract farming with local farmers.
We plan to contribute to revitalizing the local economy
with a target annual revenue of 3 billion won.
The peanut processing facility is a crucial hub
for enhancing the competitiveness of local agricultural products
and increasing farmers' incomes.
We will continue to provide ongoing support
and promotion to ensure the stable growth
of the peanut processing industry.
