Hello! Today, I'd like to introduce a special camping ground I visited with my dog: Jajakjajak Camping Ground, located in Hoengseong, Gangwon Province. It's a place where we had a wonderful time thanks to the individual fences and the stream! I'll share everything from the camping ground review to nearby attractions in Hoengseong.

1. Jajakjajak Camping Ground: Dog-Friendly Experience

Jajakjajak Camping Ground, a dog-friendly campsite in Hoengseong, is situated about 700m above sea level in the mountains. The fresh air you feel as soon as you get out of the car is on another level compared to breathing in the city!

What I liked most was the individual fenced sites. Dog companionship is possible in zones D and A, but if you want to let your dog off-leash at the site, be sure to book zone D. (Leashes are always required in zone A!)

* D Zone: Up to 3 dogs allowed, regardless of weight

* A Zone: Only 1 small dog under 8kg allowed

I chose site D-6, which was convenient for unloading luggage because I could park the car right in front of the site. The fact that it was surrounded by trees, making it quite private, was also a big plus.

Before pitching the tent, I started by enjoying Pericana chicken, which I had packed from Cheongil-myeon town in Hoengseong. It was a 12-minute drive from Jajakjajak Camping Ground, so it was nice and warm when I picked it up upon arrival. (And it tasted great!!)

Next, I quickly pitched the tent and tarp. I'm really looking forward to enjoying the private atmosphere because the sites are spaced generously apart. Now, shall we take a look around Hoengseong Jajakjajak Camping Ground?

2. Jajakjajak Camping Ground: Activities and Facilities

A clear and clean stream flows right next to Jajakjajak Camping Ground, a dog-friendly campsite in Hoengseong. The current isn't strong, so it's perfect for playing in the water with your dog.

This time, I came to the dog park. The dog park at Jajakjajak Camping Ground is directly connected to sites 1-5 in zone D, so it seems very convenient for those who booked this area.

I was satisfied that the dog park was slightly sloped, which would give my dog's legs a good workout. Seeing them running around made me smile!

The public facilities, such as the sinks, toilets, and showers, are in two locations, and I was impressed by how cleanly they were maintained to the point of sparkling. Above all, there's even a public refrigerator, so it seems like you don't need to bring an icebox.

As I looked around the camping ground, the walking path was so pretty. Birch trees were planted in a row, just like the name of the camping ground, which was very charming. Looking at the pictures, it feels like I'm on a beautiful walking trail.

Huge hydrangeas were blooming everywhere, which perfectly matched the atmosphere of Jajakjajak Camping Ground. Spending time leisurely in the quiet and cool mountains feels like paradise.

You can't leave out a campfire when camping, which is exactly what I did. Firewood is sold at the campsite (10,000 won), so I bought it at the store.

I was hungry, so I went to the campsite store, but unfortunately, they were out of cup noodles. At that time, the campground owner took out a cup noodle and asked if I would like to have it, which was very touching.

Nearby Attractions (Dog-Friendly)

While staying at Hoengseong Jajakjajak Camping Ground, I'd like to introduce some nearby attractions you can visit with your dog.

1. Hoengseong 5-Day Market

The Hoengseong 5-Day Market is a place where the 5-day market is actively held on the 1st and 6th of every month. It's great to feel the friendly market atmosphere! I ate periwinkle hangover soup at the market, and bought pig's feet and market bread to eat for dinner at the campsite.

• Dog-Friendly Information: Small, medium, and large dogs are all allowed. Keep leashes short or bring a bag.

2. Hoengseong Lake Trail Section 5

Hoengseong Lake Trail is a great place to walk your dog. The path is well-maintained and the scenery is beautiful. A lap around Section 5 takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes, making it a good exercise course.

The crispy on the outside, moist on the inside grilled eel and the tender raw trout are amazing. For reference, Deoksan Garden is a dog-friendly restaurant in Hoengseong.

• Address: 1263 Gyeonggang-ro, Gonggeun-myeon, Hoengseong-gun

4. Cafe Sanillio

This is a popular hot spot that is loved as a large cafe in Hoengseong. It's a dog-friendly cafe, so I visited with my dog, and they also sell pet-friendly cappuccinos, so my dog had a sip of a snack.

• Address: 5339 Gyeonggang-ro, Dunnae-myeon, Hoengseong-gun
