Discovering the Serenity of Yesan: Nature Walks and Historical Insights

Hello!
Welcome to Yesan County :)
Today, let's take a break from our busy lives and enjoy a true 'rest' amidst the fresh air and peaceful scenery.
We would like to introduce some of Yesan's beautiful walking destinations.
Whether you're with family, a partner, or exploring solo, let's take a look at some of Yesan's top attractions!
Amhari Ecological Park
The first recommended spot to start your Yesan journey is Amhari Ecological Park (Central Ecological Park).
This park preserves the natural landscape rather than artificial development, offering a tranquil peace that is hard to find in the city.
Upon entering the park, you'll be greeted by the refreshing sound of water from the waterwheel and lush wetland plants.
The deck paths along the water are gently sloped, making it very suitable for walking with children or the elderly.
Especially, the willow groves stretching over the water create a reflection in the lake that feels like viewing a watercolor painting.
As you take in the expansive views of Yesan Lake while feeling the cool breeze, the stresses of everyday life will melt away.
Slow Lake Trail
The Slow Lake Trail at Yesan Lake is a must-see course that you cannot miss when visiting Yesan.
Despite being a long 7 km walking path, the entire route is connected by flat decking, making it perfect for leisurely strolls.
The greatest charm of this trail is the sensation of walking right above the lake.
As you walk while enjoying the sound of gently rippling waves, the ever-changing colors of the lake and clouds in the sky provide a new landscape at every moment.
In 2020, it won the 'Asia Urban Landscape Award,' recognizing its beauty on a global scale.
Even if you only use the short section near the Yesan Lake suspension bridge, take a moment to sit on the benches and enjoy the calming view of the water.
Chusa House
After refreshing your body and mind in nature, let's head to Chusa House, where you can feel the breath of history.
This is the birthplace of Kim Jeong-hee, a renowned painter and scholar of the late Joseon Dynasty, and embodies his artistic spirit and the dignity of a scholar.
The house is built in the traditional style of the central region, giving it a refined and neat atmosphere.
The column inscribed with 'Seongnyeon' at the entrance was used by the scholar to measure time with a sundial, showcasing his scholarly traits.
Walking through the house, you can enjoy the beauty of Chusa's calligraphy displayed throughout.
In spring, a short walk along the trail behind the house reveals a stunning array of flowers such as daffodils, cherry blossoms, and cornus.
Take some time to heal your spirit while admiring these beautiful blooms.
