Introduction to a Cultural Space in Tangjeong New City
Hello!
Today, I would like to introduce you to a hidden gem in the Asan Tangjeong New City: the Tangjeong Onsaem Library and its surrounding facilities.
This place is more than just a library; it is a vibrant cultural space. Let’s explore it together with some photos!
First Impression
Upon arriving at the eco-friendly and convenient library, its clean and modern exterior immediately catches the eye.
From the entrance, you can feel the attention to detail, with several electric vehicle charging stations available in the parking lot. With the increasing number of electric vehicle users, being able to charge your car while enjoying some reading is a significant advantage.
Eco-Friendly Complex Space
Interestingly, this library is located alongside the Asan Public Sewage Treatment Facility. According to the information board, the facility is underground, while the surface has been transformed into a park and library for citizens, creating an 'eco-friendly complex space.'
There are no unpleasant odors; instead, a vast grassy area is perfect for children to play.
Right across from the library is the Onsaem Neighborhood Park.
Outdoor Facilities Around the Library
The well-maintained foot volleyball court is great for clubs or family activities.
Rest Areas: Within the park, there is a serene gazebo ideal for enjoying a picnic or taking a break.
A gentle stream flows nearby, and you can see the Tangjeong Hot Springs building, a landmark of Tangjeong, in the distance.
Usage Information
Before you visit, it's a good idea to check the library's operating hours to make the most of your time.
Operating Hours:
Tuesday to Friday: 09:00 - 22:00
Saturday to Sunday: 09:00 - 18:00
Closed on Mondays (and legal holidays excluding Sundays).
Library Interior and Lobby
Upon entering the library and checking the usage information at the entrance, visitors are greeted by a large Christmas tree beautifully decorated in the lobby.
In one corner of the lobby, there is a comfortable seating area where you can relax and browse through books.
HUE Cafe
On the first floor, there is a cafe where you can enjoy simple drinks while reading, making it a great spot to take a break.
Children's Library
This is a highlight of the library! Instead of hard desks, children can read while lounging in cozy armchairs, creating a peaceful atmosphere.
Adults can also share this space, making it a welcoming environment for everyone.
Thanks to the plant decorations scattered throughout, it feels like reading in a small forest. The separate children's area allows kids to feel at home, making the library feel like a playground.
Second Floor and Study Spaces
As you ascend the multimedia stairs to the second floor, the atmosphere becomes quieter, filled with the energy of citizens focused on their studies. Periodicals are also available here.
Digital and Media Facilities
There is a well-separated space for the latest computers and personal laptops.
DVD Viewing Room
This is a special space unique to Onsaem Library! In a partitioned area, comfortable sofas and a large TV create an atmosphere akin to a private cinema.
There are plenty of chairs throughout the library for comfortable seating.
Window Seats: My top recommendation! These seats, where you can study or read while enjoying the view, boast an ambiance comparable to a cafe.
Adjacent Sports Facility
Tangjeong Indoor Gym
Next to the library is an indoor gym. Peeking inside, I noticed well-maintained badminton and basketball courts, allowing you to feel vibrant energy regardless of the weather.
Final Thoughts and Visitor Information
The Tangjeong Onsaem Library deepens knowledge and promotes fitness. Why not take a break from your smartphone this weekend and enjoy a leisurely 'book-cation' here?
