Hello :)

I'm Heungcheongmangcheong, a travel influencer! ☕????

This time, I ventured to Gangneung, Gangwon-do, a city where the scent of autumn blends beautifully with the aroma of coffee.

Gangneung, once known only for its beaches, is now being rediscovered as a destination full of delightful experiences.

The Gangneung Coffee Festival, held every fall, is a must-visit for coffee lovers. I fully enjoyed the charm of Gangneung, including Anmok Beach Coffee Street.

Horin Park Pink Muhly Garden ????

My first stop in Gangneung was Horin Park, currently trending on social media!

It's a vast garden where you can see pink muhly grass, pampas grass, and palm trees all in one place, without having to go all the way to Jeju Island.

The entrance fee is reasonable at 5,000 won, and the 'Pink Muhly Festival' is held until November 10th. From the entrance, waves of pink undulate, and the leaves reflecting the sunlight create a sense of warmth.

Retro games like sky swings, mini zip lines, and seesaws are free, making it perfect for family trips.

If the weather is good, you can take amazing photos anywhere! My friends even asked if I was in Jeju when they saw the pictures. If you love taking photos, I highly recommend visiting Gangneung.

Gangneung Anmok Beach 17th Coffee Festival ☕

As a city of the sea and coffee, Gangneung hosts a coffee festival every year. This year marked the 17th festival! Anmok Beach, where the sea and coffee aroma blend, was the main stage.

During the festival, each cafe along the beach released its signature coffee scent, radio music flowed through the streets, and busking performances continued on stage. Strolling along the beach with a cup of coffee in hand was truly healing.

What caught my attention was the 'reusable cup return system.' If you use a recyclable cup, you get a 500 won deposit back when you return it.

It felt meaningful that the festival also considered the environment. ????

Gangneung is full of romance and fun things to do! Bubble performances, coffee roasting experiences, and food trucks were scattered throughout the area.

It was a time to be intoxicated by the scent of coffee and to have my heart melt with the sound of the waves. For three days, I couldn't help but think, "I want to come back tomorrow." ☕????

Daegwallyeong Museum ????️

If you want a slightly quieter atmosphere, I recommend the Daegwallyeong Museum near the old Daegwallyeong Road.

The exterior is modeled after a dolmen, and the building itself is like a work of art. It even won an architecture award!

The entrance fee is affordable at 1,000 won for adults, 700 won for teenagers, and 400 won for children. It displays about 2,000 artifacts from the prehistoric era to the Joseon Dynasty.

The indoor exhibition with natural scenery as a backdrop was great to look around slowly, regardless of the weather.

Bohyunsa Temple Maple Road ????

You can't leave out the fall foliage when talking about places to visit in Gangneung.

Bohyunsa Temple, located a 10-minute drive from the Daegwallyeong Museum, is a quiet mountain temple.

After walking for about 3 minutes from the parking lot, the sound of the wind chimes and the fresh air calmed my mind. There weren't many people, so it was a great place to rest for a while, and the scenery of the maple leaves surrounding the temple walls was like a postcard.

Admission is free, and temple stay programs are also available, making it a highly recommended autumn travel destination! ????

Gangwon-do Gangneung Travel Guide: Autumn Edition ✨

This trip can be summarized with three keywords: "Coffee scent, sea, and autumn foliage."

Take memorable photos at the pink Horin Park, spend a day at the Anmok Beach Coffee Festival, and fill your heart with nature and history at the Daegwallyeong Museum and Bohyunsa Temple!

Gangneung, a city of the sea, culture, and emotions, always offers new charms. Autumn Gangneung shines brightest with a cup of coffee. ☕????

Why not visit Gangneung, a perfect healing getaway, before autumn passes?
