Discovering the Attractions of Sapgyoho in Dangjin, Chungnam
충청남도 당진시 신평면 삽교천3길 100

Located in Dangjin, Chungnam, the Sapgyoho tourist area is a comprehensive seaside destination that harmoniously combines nature, activities, and delicious food.
With excellent accessibility, it takes about an hour to reach from Seoul or Gyeonggi Province, making it a great spot for day trips or weekend outings.
At the entrance to the Sapgyoho tourist area, visitors can see the Sapgyo Drainage Gate, which is a popular photo spot for photographers due to its view of the amusement park's Ferris wheel.
While the night view is stunning, visiting at the right time allows for capturing beautiful sunset photos.
The Sapgyoho Comprehensive Fish Market is located nearby, featuring ample parking and numerous restaurants on the second floor. You can buy sashimi on the first floor and enjoy it upstairs for a minimal service fee.
Although there are many parking options at Sapgyoho, we parked at the seaside park parking lot, which was small but had available spaces due to the weekday timing.
The seaside park offers a healing space for walks and has hosted a drone show and cultural performances from April to November. The drone show concluded this year, but it is expected to continue next year starting in April.
The deck path leading to the seaside park's observation deck is beautifully lit, making it perfect for photos. On sunny days, many visitors bring picnic mats to enjoy the scenery or simply relax on benches overlooking the sea.
The park features a spacious grassy area suitable for children to play, emphasizing the tranquil atmosphere and beautiful views of the West Sea, making it popular among families and couples alike.
The observation deck, a key feature of the seaside park, allows visitors to feel close to the sea while enjoying a leisurely walk. The gentle slope makes it accessible for everyone, with resting spots along the way.
There is also a busking zone available for public use from 9 AM to 10 PM, where performers can enjoy up to two hours of stage time. However, night use is only available if no prior reservations are made.
For families, the playground in the seaside park is designed in the shape of a boat, symbolizing marine and port themes, providing a fun environment for children.
The amusement park, located at the back of the area, may be small but offers a variety of rides, including a carousel, Viking ship, mini train, and Ferris wheel, all beautifully lit for great photos.
Food is plentiful in the area, with many seafood restaurants serving fresh catches like shellfish and sashimi. The Sapgyoho tourist area is a destination that highlights comfort and enjoyment rather than extravagance, providing a satisfying experience for all visitors.
If you're looking for a fun and fulfilling getaway near Seoul, consider visiting the Sapgyoho tourist area this weekend!
