The restaurant has a spacious and clean dedicated parking area right in front, allowing for easy parking.
When it comes to must-try dishes at Surawon, the Grilled Beef and Braised Pork Ribs set menus are top recommendations.
After some deliberation, I ordered the signature Grilled Beef Set and the value-for-money Hanwoo Beef Tartare.
The side dishes at Surawon kept coming out endlessly, which pleasantly surprised me.
From japchae to salad, steamed eggs, and even crab marinated in soy sauce, each side dish was beautifully presented and delicious, leaving no time for my chopsticks to rest.
When I first saw the large bowl of Cheongukjang (fermented soybean paste stew), I thought it was a rich doenjang-guk (soybean paste soup).
However, when I took a spoonful, I was shocked to find it packed with snails!
The stew was reminiscent of a smooth Western-style soup that whetted my appetite.
With soft tofu mixed in, I found myself quickly finishing a bowl of rice.
Do you like beef tartare?
The beef tartare at Surawon is made from domestic Hanwoo beef, and its reasonable price made it a perfect addition to my meal.
The combination of the spicy-sweet seasoning and the vibrant yellow yolk was too good not to photograph.
While the tartare is delicious on its own, wrapping it in fresh lettuce or placing it over warm rice creates a harmony that's hard to describe.
As I took a bite, it felt like fireworks were exploding in my mind!
Finally, the long-awaited main dish, Grilled Beef, arrived!
The perfectly grilled meat topped with fresh green onions was visually stunning.
Wrapping a piece of meat with fresh lettuce, crunchy green onions, and Surawon’s special sauce filled my mouth with a rich smoky flavor.
Surawon’s Grilled Beef uniquely combines the aroma of green onions with the smoky flavor, creating a delightful experience.
During my meal, I noticed foreign diners at the next table giving thumbs up and chatting excitedly, making me think, 'Ah, this is the true essence of K-Food!'
If you're visiting Seocheon during the 'Year of Visiting Chungnam', be sure to check out Surawon for a great balance of taste and value.
