In the Jincheon Cho-pyeong area, there is a remarkable Korean restaurant called 'Sanya Chobapsang.' This establishment has been recognized as an exemplary restaurant by the Jincheon County government, noted for its excellent facilities, hygiene, and service, earning high praise from local visitors. Being designated as an exemplary restaurant signifies not just great taste, but also a reliable space for tourists seeking an authentic Korean dining experience. Its location, conveniently situated along the scenic drive route of Cho-pyeong Reservoir and Cho-pyeong Bungeo Village, makes it an ideal stop for travelers.
While traveling, it's common to lose track of meal times due to extended travel schedules or photo opportunities. Sanya Chobapsang stands out as a place that understands the flow of travelers, operating without a designated break time. This flexibility allows visitors to drop in naturally according to their travel rhythm, which is a significant advantage when exploring nearby attractions.
Sanya Chobapsang is also known for being visited by Chef Lim Seong-geun, famous for his appearances on the cooking show 'Black and White Chef.' A banner at the restaurant entrance highlights his visit, adding another layer of interest. Chef Lim is recognized for his depth of knowledge in Korean cuisine and his ability to make it accessible to the public, enhancing the restaurant's credibility.
The restaurant serves traditional Korean meals prepared with wild vegetables personally gathered by the owner, focusing on the natural flavors of the ingredients. The interior is neatly organized, and for dishes like chicken soup and spicy chicken stew, a reservation is essential at least two hours in advance.
Menu options include Sanya Chobapsang's special set meal (for two or more) at 18,000 won, mountain vegetable bibimbap at 12,000 won, and a delightful stone pot bibimbap at 14,000 won, accompanied by a tasty acorn jelly salad at 15,000 won and seafood pancakes at 15,000 won. The beef mushroom stew is a must-try, while the native chicken soup and spicy chicken stew are hidden gems available only by reservation.
During my visit, I ordered the mountain vegetable bibimbap, which was filled with a variety of fresh wild vegetables. The beautifully presented side dishes whetted my appetite, and the accompanying soybean paste stew was exceptional. If you're visiting Jincheon, I highly recommend trying this healthy and delicious mountain vegetable meal.
