Hello!
This is Jangheung Travel!
Today, we're introducing Jangjae Island, surrounded by the calm sea of Deukryang Bay.
Jangjae Island is a small island located off the coast of Sumun-ri, Anyang-myeon, Jangheung-gun.
It belongs to Deukryang Bay and is one of the many islands in Jangheung-gun, boasting beautiful natural scenery and a quiet fishing village atmosphere!
You can access Jangjae Island via a bridge after passing Sachon Village.
This bridge is designed for water flow, so while the road is long, the bridge itself is short. Please note that there isn't a road that circles the entire island when you visit!
The refreshing blue sea stretches out, making it great for a drive, but there are also separate walking and cycling paths, so you can enjoy a stroll or bike ride.
Surrounded by the sea, fisheries and aquaculture are active, with the main livelihoods being fisheries (oyster, seaweed, and kelp farming).
Some residents are engaged in fishing, and recently, with the promotion of tourism, activities linked to tourism are gradually increasing!
Jangjae Island is also recognized as a successful example of a 'reverse reclamation project.'
When the tide goes out and the mudflat is exposed, villagers come to dig for short-necked clams, regaining the reputation of Jangheung as a specialty clam area.
Enjoy a refreshing autumn drive and experience the quiet and peaceful fishing village scenery on Jangjae Island!
