During the first weekend of its official opening, over 190,000 visitors flocked to the beach, proving its immense popularity. With no entrance fee and personal shade tents allowed for free, Songjeong Beach is an open tourist destination accessible to everyone. Notably, this year, the sandy areas on either side of the public parasol rental zones have been designated as 'free-use areas.' This allows visitors to set up their own umbrellas, tents, or shade structures without any cost.
Thanks to this, if you prepare your own beach gear and mats in advance, you can save on unnecessary rental fees and enjoy a budget-friendly trip. Essential facilities like showers, changing rooms, and drinking water stations are well-equipped, ensuring a comfortable stay throughout the day.
Haeundae, known for its modern skyline and safety systems, captivates visitors with its unique charm. Along the cozy coastline, tall buildings and luxury hotels rise majestically. The calm waves and shallow waters make it an ideal spot for water activities, attracting a vibrant crowd year-round with various cultural events.
This year, in anticipation of large crowds, sophisticated safety infrastructure has been set up. Underwater nets have been installed to prevent the influx of large, toxic jellyfish, and a new 'water activity emergency treatment center' has been introduced for immediate response to heat-related illnesses. Additionally, hazardous rocky areas are clearly marked as restricted zones, with accessible pathways for those with mobility challenges.
Stepping away from the bustling city atmosphere, a stroll along the scenic Dalmaji Road leads to the tranquil Songjeong Beach, known for its beautiful natural scenery. Spanning 1.2 km with a gentle slope, it has been a beloved spot for families with young children for many years. Recently, it has also gained popularity among younger crowds as a top surfing destination in Korea, with excellent waves available year-round.
A must-visit healing point is 'Jukdo Park,' a small uninhabited island at the eastern end of the beach. Surrounded by lush pine trees, the traditional octagonal pavilion 'Songiljeong' offers breathtaking views of the endless horizon and a refreshing sea breeze, providing deep comfort to weary souls.
The designated official operating hours are from 9 AM to 6 PM daily. Notably, the operating hours of the two beaches differ; Songjeong will operate only until August 31, while Haeundae will extend its operations until September 15 to accommodate late summer visitors.
