The newly opened Munmu Dae Wang Maritime Museum offers a space to learn about the spirit of King Munmu and maritime history.
It’s a great new travel destination for families, combining education and fun experiences.
The museum is divided into two floors. On the first floor, you can participate in the Munmu Dae Wang experience media zone via QR codes, discover nearby attractions, and enjoy a special exhibition themed around Captain Kim Young-ae.
Additionally, there is a space commemorating the closed Daebon Elementary School that used to be located here.
On the second floor, you can deeply immerse yourself in the history of King Munmu.
Experience the unification of the Silla Kingdom, the Battle of Gibeolpo, and the patriotic spirit of King Munmu through vivid videos that will make time fly by as you sit and watch.
Kids will love the interactive space! Color a Silla soldier, scan it with a 3D scanner, and watch your soldier come to life on screen!
You can also play the Manpasikjeok and become a soldier defending the Cheongha Sea, with a variety of engaging experiences available.
Don’t forget to visit the museum shop at the end of your journey to purchase souvenirs. Be sure to take photos with the iconic Donggyeong sculpture representing Gyeongju!
