Discover the Beauty of Samsun Mountain Arboretum This Summer
As July brings the height of summer, more people are searching for spots that can solve both weekend outing costs and the heat. Located in Dangjin, Chungnam, Samsun Mountain Arboretum offers a breathtaking array of summer flowers without any entrance fee, making it a hot topic among couples and family travelers.
Since it is operated by a public institution, the reservation and entry procedures are straightforward, making it ideal for a casual day trip. During this season, visitors can enjoy not only the stunning white hydrangea tunnel but also large outdoor play facilities for children, making it a must-visit summer destination that offers a variety of attractions.
Upon entering the arboretum through the main gate and ascending the left path, you will be greeted by the enchanting white Annabelle hydrangea pathway. By July, all the blooms are in full glory, creating a magical atmosphere as the 7-meter-wide path is flanked by dense white flowers.
This route is shaded by lush trees, providing a cool and comfortable walk away from the harsh midday sun. If your goal is photography, visiting in the morning when the soft light is evenly spread or in the afternoon when the sunlight enhances the flowers' three-dimensionality will yield the best results.
Continuing up the path, you’ll find a thrilling suspension bridge that offers a panoramic view of the entire arboretum. After crossing the swaying bridge, you can relax with a cool drink at the café located in the visitor center, making it easy to bring along elderly family members.
The ecological pond at the center of the arboretum is another highlight. Along the pond's edge, beautiful pink lotus flowers bloom, and visitors can observe small fish and wetland creatures up close, providing nostalgia for adults and a vivid nature learning opportunity for children.
For families with children, the giant sand playground and outdoor water play area located at the lower section are particularly appealing. This area features various adventure facilities, including a zip line, and will have a free swimming pool available from July 11 to August 16, making it the perfect summer getaway for kids.
The water play facilities operate from 10 AM to 5 PM but are closed every Monday for water quality maintenance, so plan your visit accordingly. To maintain a safe and hygienic environment, the bringing of personal tubes, water guns, and disposable items is strictly prohibited, so be sure to check what to bring before your visit.
