Hello!
I recently visited a buckwheat restaurant called 'First Village' located at the foot of Hallasan Mountain in Jeju Island.
It was my first time trying such a unique flavor, and it stood out among the meals I had during my trip.
The taste was subtle, yet I was amazed at how buckwheat could create such flavor!
They use a unique sauce that enhances the taste even more.
There was also a cute dog at the back of the restaurant!
The restaurant has a spacious parking area, so I was able to park without any worries.
Inside the restaurant, the interior was neat with table seating.
They also had high chairs available for children.
Menu
The menu features Jeju buckwheat.
I chose the best dish on the menu: Bibijakjak Myeon!
Curious about the meaning of 'Bibijakjak', I found out it refers to the way a child draws innocently, resembling scribbles in Jeju dialect.
When ordering through the tablet provided at the table, it was super easy!
They served warm buckwheat tea as a complimentary drink, and cold water is available from the water dispenser.
Bibijakjak Myeon is a beautiful dish made with seasonal vegetables, nutty perilla seeds, and light perilla oil.
You can mix it with the vegetables and add more Bibijakjak sauce to your liking.
The sauce was so delicious that I wanted to buy some to take home!
The perilla seeds added a nice crunch and flavor.
The side dishes included pickled radish and white kimchi, along with the Bibijakjak sauce!
Dumplings
The dumplings were filled generously.
The buckwheat dough made them even tastier!
I couldn't resist ordering them as they pair perfectly with the bibim noodles.
It was a choice I didn't regret!
I finished the entire bowl!
It was incredibly delicious!
I think it tasted even better because it was unique to Jeju Island.
At the entrance, they also sell various buckwheat-related products.
Among the foods I tried during my trip to Jeju, this was one of the best!
There are many representative dishes of Jeju, but since Jeju buckwheat is famous, I highly recommend giving it a try!
