Where smiles of seniors linger, Dangjin Halhal Cafe connects citizens and daily life.
The Dangjin Senior Club operates a silver cafe tailored for seniors, providing them with job opportunities.
Located on the first floor of the Dream House Happy Housing at 139 Seobu-ro, Dangjin, Halhal Cafe is becoming a new workplace for seniors and a healing space for citizens to find warmth and relaxation.

Since its opening on November 25 as part of the senior employment project by the Dangjin Senior Club, the cafe has attracted many visitors in a short time. Upon visiting, I immediately felt the warmth and hospitality of the place.
One of the most impressive aspects during my visit was the natural warmth and ease exhibited by the seniors as they interacted with customers.
While waiting for my latte, I observed the seniors coordinating effortlessly to prepare beverages calmly.
As one of them handed me my latte with the words, "Enjoy your drink," I could sense their pride in their work and their desire to make someone's day a little brighter.
During my short stay, it became clear that this was a place where both visitors and seniors felt comfortable.
A space created by 10 seniors… Operating in pairs, five days a week.
A total of 10 seniors participate in Halhal Cafe.

They work in pairs, operating five days a week from Monday to Friday. Before joining, the seniors receive systematic training in basic barista skills, operational methods, and baking fundamentals.
Some of the seniors already hold barista certifications or have experience in cooking and baking, adding stability to the cafe's operations.
Each day, a variety of cookies and baked goods are displayed, reflecting the seniors' experience and care. Visitors enjoy not just snacks but 'small masterpieces' crafted with love.
The silver cafe, completed with local support, showcases the power of collaboration. Various local organizations contributed to the establishment of Halhal Cafe.
With support from the Chungcheongnam-do Development Corporation for a stable space and selection for a new job project from the Chungcheongnam-do Senior Employment Integrated Support Center, the operational foundation has strengthened.
Thanks to the meticulous management by the Dangjin Senior Club, the cafe has developed into a safe and enjoyable environment for seniors to work. The warm support from the community has made Halhal Cafe a true 'local community project.'
This collaborative spirit signifies more than just a cafe; it represents the community's commitment to supporting seniors in their daily lives, providing a space that offers comfort to citizens and vitality to seniors.

The menu features thoughtfully prepared items. In addition to basic offerings like Americano, café latte, and vanilla latte, Halhal Cafe offers a wide selection, including green tea latte, strawberry latte, and various spritzers. All bakery items are made by the seniors, delivering warm drinks at reasonable prices.
The latte I tasted had a perfect balance of froth and milk temperature, showcasing the 'power of care' in every sip.
The affordable pricing has also garnered a positive response from citizens.
At Halhal Cafe, where citizens and seniors create a warm daily life together.

During my time at the cafe, I witnessed seniors greeting visitors and calmly preparing drinks, making me realize that this space transcends being just a cafe; it feels like a small town square where generations connect naturally.
People come here to relax, share their daily lives, or support the steps of seniors.
Parking is available in nearby alleys or at the underground parking lot of the Dangjin 2-dong Administrative Welfare Center. As a citizen, I sincerely hope that such warm spaces continue to thrive throughout Dangjin.
