Today, I finally visited the much-anticipated Chilgapsan Alpine Village Ice Fountain Festival and I'm excited to share my experience.
With towering ice fountains and a variety of thrilling winter activities, it was a day to remember!

Parking: Both outdoor and underground parking available, but it is paid.

Tips for Discounted Tickets
Normal Price:
- Admission: 12,000 KRW, Sledding Package: 32,000 KRW (Admission + Sledding)
With a receipt from Cafe Heidi:
- Admission: 6,000 KRW (50% discount), Sledding Package: 26,000 KRW
For Naver reservations:
- Admission: 12,000 KRW (no discount), Sledding Package: 25,600 KRW on weekdays, 28,800 KRW on weekends, Free for children under 36 months (proof required!)
On-site package discounts:

If you are a family of three or four, using the on-site package discount is the most economical option.
2. Attractions and Activities at the Festival
The parking area was spacious and well-managed. However, on holidays, it can get crowded, so expect to walk about 10 minutes from the parking area to the entrance.
There was a ticket office where you could buy admission tickets and store your belongings for a fee of 5,000 KRW per day.
This festival began in 2008 by local residents and has grown into a nationally recognized winter festival over the years.
The event featured stunning ice pillars, with a total of 90 pillars symbolizing the hope that the village population would exceed 90.
The beauty of the ice pillars was breathtaking. It was impressive to see the festival as a collective effort of the local residents, who were warm and friendly.
Upon arrival, I truly felt like I had entered a 'Frozen Kingdom'.
Various character snow sculptures were also highly detailed, with the most popular photo spots being the 'Ice Castle' and the 'Chilgapsan Ice Fountain'.
The ice pit photo zone was also a hit, allowing for fun pictures. This festival offers many activities for families and couples alike, including thrilling bobsled rides.
Indoor and outdoor bobsledding were particularly enjoyable, with both attracting many visitors.
The snow sledding area was divided into sections for toddlers, children, and adults, ensuring safety for all ages.
Additionally, activities like zip-lining and a can ride were available, making it a fun-filled day.
Fishing for smelt was also an option, providing a variety of engaging experiences throughout the day.
3. Food at the Chilgapsan Ice Fountain Festival
As you walk through the 'Frozen Kingdom', the cold can be quite biting.
In these moments, warm snacks like fish cakes, spiral potatoes, sausages, and hot dogs were available.
Sweet potatoes and roasted chestnuts were particularly popular, each priced at 5,000 KRW. The joy of roasting sweet potatoes made them deliciously warm and tasty.
There was also a restaurant on-site for hearty meals.
