Chasing Stars: Three Romantic Stargazing Spots in Korea

Hello!
This is the Korea Tourism Travel Newspaper.
Have you ever wondered, 'What makes a trip romantic?'
As someone who lives and breathes romance, I often search for romantic destinations!
Romantic travel... it might be a subjective question, difficult to answer.
But for me, it's definitely 'stargazing trips'!
Imagine a cold winter night, holding a hot pack, gazing at a night sky filled with stars!
It doesn't get more romantic than that ✨
Winter is the best season for stargazing in Korea!
The weather is clear and transparent compared to other seasons, and there are many first-magnitude stars!
Today, I'll introduce three romantic stargazing spots in Korea.
1. Anbandegi
Location: 153 Anbandegi 1-gil, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do (Note: This is the location of Cafe Wow Anbandegi, near the stargazing spot)
Anbandegi is one of the most popular places among stargazers these days!
Many people remember Anbandegi for its Meongye Observatory, but it is currently closed.
The Gangneung city government is considering installing another observatory nearby, as it is a popular tourist destination, so let's hope for the best!
Even without the Meongye Observatory, Anbandegi's scenery is still excellent!
Vast cabbage fields, large wind turbines, and a sky full of stars at night!
However, be aware that Anbandegi's weather is very unpredictable!
It can be clear one moment and cloudy the next.
It is recommended to check the current weather frequently when visiting Anbandegi.
2. Unyeo Beach
Location: 535-57 Jangsampo-ro, Gonam-myeon, Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do
Have you heard of Unyeo Beach in Taean?
It's relatively less famous than Anbandegi, but it's a well-known stargazing spot.
Usually, stargazing brings to mind remote mountain valleys without light pollution!
I was surprised that it's possible to observe stars in Taean, on the west coast!
If you time it right, you can capture the sea, the Solseom islet at Unyeo Beach, and the Milky Way in one photo!
Why not try to capture a great photo with some patience? ❤️
Unyeo Beach is also famous for its beautiful sunsets.
If you enjoy taking pictures, I highly recommend visiting!!!
3. 1100 Altitude
Location: 1555 1100-ro, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do
This time, it's Jeju Island!
It suddenly feels more difficult to visit... haha.
It's harder to visit than the places I introduced earlier, but it's just as charming!
It is located at the highest point on the 1100 Road connecting Jungmun-dong in Seogwipo-si and Jeju City.
The name comes from the fact that the altitude of the highest point is 1100m!
Located at an altitude of 1100m, there is no fine dust, and you can see many stars if you visit on a cloudless day.
The south and north directions are open, so a big advantage is that you can see both the Milky Way and the North Star!
The most famous Milky Way spot at 1100 Altitude is the deer spot!
It's the Hallasan deer statue, and many people take pictures with the Milky Way band overlapping the deer.
I hope you all get your best shot. Good luck!
