Celebration of the Publication of the 10th Collection of Dangjin Essays & 4th Reading Response Award Ceremony

The Dangjin Essay Literary Society, founded in 2015, is the first specialized literary organization for essays in Dangjin. The society publishes a collection of essays and individual works after weekly workshops that include creation and critique.
Since its establishment, the Dangjin Essay Society has published an annual collection and has expanded its creative activities through literary excursions and social gatherings.

The celebration for the publication of the 10th collection and the 4th Reading Response Award Ceremony took place at a local café, where advisor Song Young-pal recited poet Jung Hyun-woo's poem 'If Only It Were a Passing Breeze,' evoking sentimental emotions.
Many attendees graced the event to celebrate the publication, and the ceremony opened with a sweet performance by the classical guitar club 'Clesia.'
Vice President Park Seong-eun introduced the history of the Dangjin Essay Literary Society.
Following this, Vice President Kang Bok-soon presented the timeline of the Dangjin Essay Society.
The society has made significant contributions to the local literary scene, producing over 20 professional essayists, three 'Literary Persons of the Year' from the Dangjin Cultural Foundation, and two next-generation writers.
At the center of this achievement was President Lee Jong-mi. In recognition of her contributions, the society's chairman Yoo Hyung-min and members presented her with a service award. Lee Jong-mi expressed her gratitude, stating, 'The Dangjin Essay Literary Society has provided a platform for members' creative activities and has engaged in various activities to offer new experiences to literary enthusiasts. We have focused on expanding the base of literary clubs and establishing Dangjin as a cultural city, and I am thankful for this valuable award.'
After the cake-cutting ceremony, the 4th Reading Response Award Ceremony was held. All submitted works reflected the emotions and thoughts experienced while reading, showcasing the authors' unique perspectives.
The judging criteria emphasized deep understanding of the author's voice rather than simple plot summaries, rewarding works that connected reflections with life experiences.
The awarded works were recognized for their clear thematic consciousness and their persuasive expression of how reading experiences influenced personal values and attitudes. Additionally, their stable structure and expressive quality left a lasting impression on readers.
The winners of the Reading Response Award included Jeon Yun-hee, Hwang Hyun-mi, Kim Dong-ho, and Lee Jong-sook.
