Celebrating Youth in May

May is the month of family celebrations.
From Children's Day to Parents' Day, Teacher's Day, and Buddha's Birthday, the calendar is filled with special days.
It raises a curious question: "When is the day for our youth?" Have you ever wondered?
The United Nations has designated August 12 as 'International Youth Day', but in South Korea, the Youth Basic Law recognizes May as 'Youth Month'.
Although there isn't a specific 'Youth Day' marked like Children's Day, May is a month where our youth can confidently be the stars of the world.
Recently, I visited a hot spot for youth located in Dangjin, Chungcheongnam-do.
As part of the Dangjin 2-dong urban regeneration project in 2023, the Sudabucks 2nd branch was established following the first branch in Dangjin-dong.
The exterior resembles a standalone cafe, and it has been recognized for its excellent design and youth-friendly space by winning the Grand Prize at the 2024 Korea Public Architecture Award.

This facility is a safe and pleasant space for youth in the Dangjin area.
The biggest attraction is that it offers one free drink per day to young people.
Enjoying a refreshing drink while chatting with friends can really relieve academic stress.
Don't forget to bring your personal tumbler when using the cafeteria!
Various facilities are available, including a cafeteria, a makerspace for personal development and hobbies, karaoke rooms, club rooms, computer & PlayStation rooms, and dance studios.
Inside, there are also various goods made by the youth themselves, showcasing their creativity.
The bright and welcoming atmosphere created by the interior design and large windows adds to the charm.
One of the most popular spots is the computer zone, equipped with high-performance PCs and comfortable gaming chairs, perfect for playing games or searching for information.
The makerspace is a professional workshop where youth can create their own goods.
The karaoke room features soundproofing and the latest equipment, ensuring a great experience.
There is also a board game zone, ideal for building friendships through games.
The library has a variety of recommended books, perfect for quiet reading in the sunlight.
Outside, there is a recycling machine where you can earn points for returning clear plastic bottles.
This dedicated cultural space allows youth to relax and enjoy their time. We hope everyone finds happiness and relief from stress at Sudabucks 2!
