1. Thrilling Views of the West Sea at Hongseong Sky Tower

Not many places along the West Coast offer such height!

Standing at 65 meters, Hongseong Sky Tower is famed for its stunning views of Namdang Port.

On the day I visited, the weather was cloudy and slightly overcast, but it added a unique charm to the scenery of the West Sea.

There's a different allure compared to a sunny day.

The entrance fee is 3,000 won, but you can get 2,000 won back in local gift certificates!

Essentially, it’s a viewpoint experience for just 1,000 won.

🗺️ Viewing Tip: Take the elevator to the 3rd floor first!

Enjoy the expansive mudflats and the view of Cheonsuman; just gazing at it is refreshing.

On clear days, you can see the islands and the sea all at once.

Using a telescope to spot Gangwolleung and Anmyeonam is also fun!

Now, shall we head down to the 2nd floor?

💓 Heart-Pounding Point: The 2nd floor features a glass deck!

If it feels a bit scary, don't look down; instead, focus on the distant mudflats and pine forest.

Watching it on video adds to the thrill.

(If you have acrophobia, prepare yourself a bit before visiting!)

2. A Healing Retreat Even in Winter: Hongseong Agricultural Technology Center Healing Shelter

“Nowhere to go in winter?”

This saying doesn’t apply in Hongseong.

During the cold season, locals start to discover this hidden healing spot, the Agricultural Technology Center Healing Shelter.

While not extravagant, it offers:

✔️ The soothing sound of water

✔️ The gentle chirping of birds

Thanks to these, both body and mind relax.

Walking slowly in a thick padded coat, you realize, “Ah, I’m really relaxing.”

Especially when captured on video, the quiet atmosphere, the calmness of the winter forest, and the unique leisure of the shelter are beautifully conveyed.
