Autumn Journey at the Dangjin Chrysanthemum Exhibition
I took an autumn trip to the Dangjin Chrysanthemum Exhibition!!
The scent of autumn in the deepening fall season signals the peak time for a bountiful harvest. In this season of colorful autumn leaves, I felt a longing to escape from my busy daily life and enjoy some leisure.
When autumn arrives, one place I want to visit is the Hapdeok Rural Theme Park, where the Dangjin Chrysanthemum Exhibition is held. It was filled with autumn colors and scents, boasting a rich autumn atmosphere. The 16th Dangjin Chrysanthemum Exhibition took place from October 31st to November 9th.
Walking along the chrysanthemum tunnel, we were greeted by the unique and subtle fragrance of chrysanthemums. Passing through the tunnel felt like entering a chrysanthemum kingdom.
Even without trying, the chrysanthemum scent entering my nose disarmed my heart.
I met about 30 Japanese tourists who visited the chrysanthemum exhibition. They took pictures with chrysanthemum sculptures and sampled chrysanthemum tea.
These tourists were enjoying the Hapdeokje Reservoir and the Dangjin Chrysanthemum Exhibition after experiencing 'Hapdeok Rice Cake Making' and listening to explanations at the Hapdeok Agricultural Folk Museum.
During the chrysanthemum exhibition, children from daycare centers and kindergartens came for autumn picnics. The innocent laughter of the children cheering at the shooting fountain show made me stop and smile along.
It was a delightful autumn outing for the children, who enjoyed greeting frogs.
At the chrysanthemum exhibition hall, I could see a variety of chrysanthemum works, including sculpted chrysanthemums, potted chrysanthemums, bonsai chrysanthemums, large chrysanthemums, and small chrysanthemums. The exhibition hall also sold chrysanthemums, so people bought chrysanthemum pots to bring the scent of autumn home, or they participated in free planting experiences to take them home.
The bonsai exhibition hall, where works by members of the Dangjin Chrysanthemum Research Association were displayed, featured various chrysanthemum bonsai. The chrysanthemum bonsai, which must have been cultivated for a long time, showed artistic sense and meticulous effort.
The exhibition displayed individual works by members of the Chrysanthemum Research Association, each showcasing their unique personality. It was a chrysanthemum bonsai exhibition where you could read and feel the high level of skill and creative intent required to grow them as bonsai.
We, the visitors, enjoyed the chrysanthemum exhibition, which was made possible by the long hours of dedication and effort put in by the growers.
Hapdeok Rural Theme Park is connected to Hapdeokje Reservoir and the Hapdeok Agricultural Folk Museum, allowing visitors to see the lifestyle centered around rice farming. A cow, an essential asset in agricultural society, was made into a chrysanthemum sculpture and displayed in harmony with a thatched-roof house.
The photo zone in the long chrysanthemum field was truly beautiful. The people posing for pictures with their families were also beautiful.
The chrysanthemum exhibition hall was decorated with chrysanthemum sculptures that promoted Dangjin, such as the Hapdeok Station Seohae Line train and heart-shaped swans. There were various programs such as busking and janggu performances on Saturdays and Sundays, making it a healing time to enjoy in the fall.
At the chrysanthemum exhibition hall, where the chattering of children, the main characters of the yellow bus visiting the autumn flower exhibition, could be heard, another outing for the elderly, called No Chi-won, continued.
The sight of volunteers caring for each elderly person and helping them smell the chrysanthemum scent was as beautiful as the chrysanthemum flowers. I hope it was a flower path for the elderly who had a rare outing.
The 16th Dangjin Chrysanthemum Exhibition was not just an exhibition of chrysanthemum flowers, but also an exhibition that offered small comfort to those who visited, telling them 'You are living well' and 'You can live like that' through the chrysanthemums.
It was a chrysanthemum exhibition where I took a break from my busy daily life and filled myself with autumn in the chrysanthemum-filled exhibition hall.
