Hello, this is Dalmu-ri, a citizen reporter.

Even though January started with mild weather, a sudden cold wave has brought winter-like conditions. On such days, staying warm at home is ideal, but sometimes, outings with kids are unavoidable.

Last weekend, I went out with my children and visited a famous noodle restaurant in Geumsan, Chungcheongnam-do.

We headed to Gibeom's Noodle House for lunch. The name feels very friendly, and the restaurant is located in an alley in Geumsan-eup.

While there isn’t a dedicated parking lot, the alley has ample parking space, so it wasn't a hassle.

Gibeom's Noodle House is designated as a 'good price' establishment by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. Nowadays, many places charge 7,000 to 8,000 won for a bowl of noodles, but here, a serving of banquet noodles is only 5,500 won, making it very affordable.

Even if two of us eat noodles, it only costs 11,000 won, which is reasonable compared to other restaurants.

A banner outside the restaurant mentions that it has appeared on TV programs, including a culinary tour of Geumsan. The photos showcase beautifully presented dishes.

The interior of the restaurant is cozy, featuring four tables for four and one for two. Gibeom's Noodle House serves the noodles that the three brothers, Gibeom, loved during their childhood.

They prepare warm, lovingly made dishes to share the memories of their family of five, serving healthy meals that they used to make for their children.

The menu is simple yet diverse, including Geumsan banquet noodles, mixed noodles, ginseng beef kimbap, snail pancakes, boiled pork head, knife-cut noodles, and buckwheat pancakes. You can enjoy a set menu at a discounted price, making it an even better deal.

Additionally, Gibeom's offers a special dinner set that includes ginseng bone soup, octopus noodles or grilled pork belly stir-fry, perilla leaf wraps, and seasonal fruits and salads, priced at 70,000 won for 3 to 4 people, available by reservation a day in advance.

The kitchen is partially open, and the food is prepared after ordering, with steam rising from the boiling noodles.

First, the beef kimbap arrived. I thought it would be insufficient to only have noodles, so I ordered kimbap, which was just right—not too much rice, and tightly rolled.

The kimbap contains basic ingredients with beef, which was well-seasoned and harmonized deliciously with the other ingredients.

The kimchi is made in-house with various fruits and vegetables. When I entered the restaurant, the owner was preparing cabbage, and the care put into making the kimchi made it even tastier. I had several refills of the kimchi, which paired perfectly with the noodles and snail pancakes.

The snail pancakes contain chives and snails. Since I visited with my kids, the owner kindly added chili peppers to only one side. It was thoughtful, as the kids cannot eat spicy food.

Personally, I prefer thin and crispy pancakes over soggy ones, and these were just to my liking.

I ordered a large serving of banquet noodles topped with egg, zucchini, and seaweed. Although not visible in the photo, the noodles were generously topped with stir-fried beef and a small amount of ginseng.

My kids love banquet noodles, so they usually have a bowl each, but sharing a large serving was more than enough for us. The large serving is provided free of charge upon request without any extra cost.

The food we ordered looked very appetizing. I had a light snack at home before coming, and the kids had some snacks on the way, so we ordered just enough for four without overdoing it.

The dipping sauce on the table can be used for the snail pancakes or added to the noodles. The basic banquet noodles are made with anchovies, dried pollack, shrimp, kelp, and various vegetables, giving a refreshing and clean taste. Adding chopped chili peppers to the soy sauce enhances the flavor.

I added the dipping sauce to my noodles. The basic banquet noodles are great for kids, while adults might enjoy adding the dipping sauce for extra flavor and a spicy kick.

Dining at Gibeom's Noodle House with my kids was satisfying. The snail pancakes were a delightful treat, and the warm broth was perfect for the cold winter.
