Located at 290-10, Seongseong-dong, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, Seongseong Lake Park is a delightful place to visit.
November is a time when people are busy trying to experience the last vestiges of autumn before winter truly sets in. It feels like just a few days ago we were eagerly anticipating the vibrant hues of ginkgo and maple trees. Thanks to the relatively warm weekend weather, I had the pleasure of taking my children to Seongseong Lake Park. Let me share my experience at Seongseong Lake Park, a place notable for its well-maintained walking paths and expansive playground.
Finding Seongseong Lake Park
Seongseong Lake Park is situated near the Seongseong and Upseong urban development areas. It's not directly adjacent to the main road, so you'll need to navigate through some smaller streets by car. If you're driving, simply search for 'Seongseong Lake Park' in your navigation app for accurate directions.
The parking lot in front of the visitor center is quite spacious, offering convenient parking for visitors. Even on weekends, I found parking without any hassle. Parking is free, so you can visit without any cost. The parking area seemed to accommodate about 50 to 60 cars, and there was plenty of space when I visited on a weekend morning.
A Park Embracing the Autumn Sky
Seongseong Lake Park isn't yet surrounded by tall buildings. Although apartment complexes are being built nearby, the open surroundings still provide a refreshing and expansive view.
The children ran at full speed across the wide lawn, shaking off the stuffiness of being indoors. The green lawn under the blue autumn sky was picturesque. The open space, which is hard to find in the city, is the biggest attraction of this park. The lawn is well maintained, making it ideal for picnics.
Fun Times at the Sand Playground
The playground at Seongseong Lake Park is made of sand, making it perfect for children to run and play freely. It features various play equipment such as slides, swings, and seesaws. Most importantly, the space is large enough for children to move around without restrictions. It's not easy to find sand playgrounds these days, so it was great to have one available in the park.
The playground is divided into zones for different age groups. There's a space with small slides and play equipment for toddlers, and a separate area with higher slides and a zip line for older children, ensuring a safe play environment.
When visiting with children, be sure to bring bubble toys and sand play equipment! These are essential items for fully enjoying the vast lawn and sandy playground. With just a sand shovel, bucket, and bubble maker, children can have hours of fun.
Useful Amenities to Know
Clean restrooms are available in the visitor center, impressively equipped with sinks at child-friendly heights. Diaper changing stations are also provided for those visiting with younger children, adding to the convenience. The restrooms were well-maintained and clean. However, there are no shops or vending machines in the park, so it's best to bring your own drinks and snacks. The nearest convenience store is about a 5-minute drive from the park entrance.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit is around 10 AM to 12 PM. The park tends to get crowded in the afternoon, especially the playground. On weekend afternoons, many families visit, and the parking lot can fill up, so keep that in mind.
In the evening, the park is also a great place for couples and families to take a walk. The sunset reflecting on the lake is beautiful, so try visiting at different times to fully experience the charm of Seongseong Lake Park.
Seongseong Lake Park, visited at the tail end of autumn, was the perfect place to escape from the complexities of daily life and find relaxation in nature. If you want to play with your children, take a walk with your family, and create precious memories, I highly recommend Seongseong Lake Park!
It's free, easy to park, and offers spaces for various age groups to enjoy, making it a great place to visit without any burden. Before winter begins in earnest, why not spend a happy time with your family under the warm autumn sun?
