A Visit to Cheongbori Fields in Boryeong

On a warm spring day in May, I visited the beautiful Cheongbori Fields in Cheonbuk, located in Boryeong, Chungcheongnam-do, which is also known as the filming location for 'Our Beloved Summer.'
☀️ Boryeong Cheongbori Fields & Café
○ Address: 73-1 Cheonggwang-ro, Cheonbuk-myeon, Boryeong-si, Chungcheongnam-do
○ Café Hours: Weekdays 10 AM - 6 PM, Weekends 9 AM - 6 PM
○ Entrance Fee: 5,000 KRW (8,000 - 9,000 KRW with beverage) / Free for children under 5
The weather was lovely, and I enjoyed a healing moment while watching the green waves of the Cheongbori fields under the blue sky. Although not as vast as the fields in Gochang, the view of the field with a house on the hill was a highlight.
After parking, I purchased my ticket at the entrance. When I visited, parking was somewhat limited, and some cars were parked along the roadside. Many visitors opted for the entrance fee that included a beverage.
The Cheongbori is at its greenest between April and May, making it a popular spot for photography. The surrounding area is a typical rural village, filled with greenery that is easy on the eyes. Even though there weren’t designated photo zones, the natural beauty of the place made it even more charming.
As the wind blew, I was able to appreciate the rippling Cheongbori fields. The space was large enough that, despite the number of visitors, it didn’t feel crowded, allowing for a relaxed experience.
While it would have been nice to have multiple walking paths through the fields, I appreciated that the single direction allowed for unobstructed photos of the fields without people.
At the top of the hill, there was a building that seemed to have been a café in the past. Now, it serves as a nice resting spot where visitors can enjoy beverages purchased from the café near the parking area.
After exploring the area, I moved to a newly built café near the parking lot. Since my entrance ticket included a beverage, I showed my ticket and ordered drinks (Cheongbori grain latte and milk tea). The beverage prices ranged from 8,000 to 9,000 KRW.
While at the café, I noticed they were selling barley bread and roasted glutinous barley (for barley tea), made from barley grown in the fields. I usually boil water for tea, but the roasted barley had a rich aroma that was enticing!
After leaving the café, I headed back to the Cheongbori fields. Although there were many flowers planted in front of the resting area, most were not in bloom yet, but it seemed they would soon be in full bloom. I highly recommend visiting the beautiful spots in Chungcheongnam-do in May!
