A Vibrant Celebration of Dance and Culture: Cheonan Heungtaryeong Festival

Autumn is a season filled with news of various festivals happening all over the region.

I was invited by Good Travel 6952, a company specializing in domestic bus tours, to visit the Cheonan Heungtaryeong Festival, a representative festival of Cheonan. As it was my first time attending, I was excited and thrilled even before going. Let me share with you the scenes from the festival that illuminated the night in Cheonan.

The Heungtaryeong Festival, held from September 24th to September 28th, 2025, at the Cheonan Sports Complex, was a delightful event where everyone could communicate, going beyond simply watching performances to directly participating in folk dances from around the world.

I visited on the evening of September 26th and watched the parades and performances featuring traditional dances from various countries. It was a great opportunity to see wonderful performances by representative dance troupes from around the world.

Under the slogan 'A Global Dance Stage Where Everyone is a Star,' representatives from each country participated and showcased amazing dance moves. I was captivated by the splendid dances that evoked admiration and enjoyed watching them for a long time.

I arrived a bit late, so the performance seats were already full. Many people were enjoying the wonderful performances. I looked for a spot and watched the performances, and the streets were filled with energy as the audience cheered and applauded.

After the performances prepared by each country, a street parade followed. I could feel the heat amidst the crowds that filled the streets.

This year, the International Dance Competition and the International Street Dance Championship were also held, and it was delightful to see so many people visiting and enjoying themselves.

The costumes of the performers from each country were also a sight to see. The combination of wonderful costumes and dances was so captivating that I couldn't take my eyes off them.

The enthusiasm for coverage was also very high. It was fun to photograph the people who struck great poses when I pointed my camera at them.

The seats for watching the performances were already full, so I had to walk around taking pictures from both sides of the street. The relatively small number of seats in the large square was a bit disappointing, but it was understandable given the large number of visitors.

Finally, the Korean performance troupe appeared. They seemed a bit nervous before the performance, but they put on a great show and received a lot of applause.

The most popular performance was the cheerleaders' performance. Everyone cheered as they watched the performance of them flying into the air.

The 2025 Cheonan Heungtaryeong Festival was an exciting festival full of things to see and enjoy. I especially liked that all the festivals were free to watch, and it was also nice that shuttle buses were provided, making it easy to get from Cheonan Station to the festival grounds.

I heard that there was a wonderful drone show on the opening day and a grand finale performance on the last day.

I was a little disappointed that I only got to enjoy it for a short time this year. Next year, I'll have to make sure to fully enjoy it during the festival season.
