A Tranquil Escape: Hadomun Cafe in Sokcho

Many people visit Sokcho to see the breathtaking scenery of Seoraksan Mountain in autumn, right?
I actually visit Sokcho often because I love the sea. This time, I went to a cafe in Sokcho called Hadomun Cafe, which had a courtyard that made me feel so relaxed. It's recently become famous as a filming location for the TV show 'My Little Old Boy,' so many people are visiting these days.
As soon as you enter the cafe, the courtyard looks like a small garden. The small pond, along with unnamed flowers and plants, added a touch of greenery.
They say 'spacing out' is trendy these days, and this place was perfect for enjoying the view from the window. It's great with the lush green plants now, but I think it would be just as lovely in winter with the snow piled up, so I think it would be great to visit then too.

I could definitely feel that 감성 (emotional) cafes are trending these days. While large cafes have their own unique 감성, Hadomun Cafe was a traditional and tranquil place. It was my first time visiting a cafe with this kind of atmosphere, and I enjoyed it more than I expected. I immediately understood why people recommend this cafe in Sokcho.
Exterior
The view as I entered the cafe felt like being in a forest garden. There were traces of time everywhere, but even that seemed to add to the cafe's 감성.
Parking Information
You can park in the parking lot in front of the cafe. The parking lot was well-maintained and larger than I expected, which was great. I stayed overnight at the Home Marina Sokcho Hotel the day before and headed straight here after checking out. I thought I should arrive right when it opens to take photos and enjoy the cafe comfortably, so I hurried a bit.
Interior
As you enter the cafe, you can enjoy the view of the courtyard through the full-length windows in the front. The large hall structure created a very open feeling.
The ㄷ-shaped arrangement of the tables was unique. There was a table for large groups in the center, surrounded by tables for four people. The most popular seats here are definitely the ones by the window.
Ordered Menu
I arrived right when they opened, and they were busy preparing. It was a rainy autumn day, and I wanted a cup of warm tea, so I ordered a drink and sat by the window.
Exploring the Courtyard
I went out to the courtyard for a bit before my drink came out. I couldn't resist the urge to feel the 감성 of the rainy day up close and take some pretty pictures.
My daughter helped me take some photos. The 감성 of the courtyard is great, right? If it hadn't been raining, I would have sat at the outdoor table, but I had to settle for looking at it from inside.
The sound of raindrops and the frogs croaking somewhere were comforting. I switched to 감성 mode while watching the raindrops fall on the deck! I enjoyed my time here.
Enjoying Cafe Drinks
I ordered the Guatemala Huehuetenango Waykan coffee, which had an impressive chocolate aroma, and it paired perfectly with the chocolate that came with it. My daughter ordered the chocolate cream latte, and she said it had a sweet and savory aroma. I also ordered a strawberry pastry to eat with it, and the soft and sweet taste went well with the coffee.
My day at Hadomun Cafe in Sokcho, with the gentle music playing, started off great. I have a good feeling about today's Sokcho trip. As we enjoyed our time, customers started to pour in. Whether it's because it became known as a filming location for the TV show 'My Little Old Boy' or because it was already a famous cafe in Sokcho, more and more people were visiting.
We enjoyed our happy tea time, talked about today's plans, and shared stories about our favorite places in Sokcho from yesterday, enjoying our own 소확행 (small but certain happiness).
Review
I loved the neatness of the white and black decor. Even the 감성 of the mugs was perfect. I really liked the simple and neat 감성, which wasn't flashy or over the top.
The view from the window while sitting on the comfortable sofa was also perfect. It was a great time to relax and enjoy the leisure. I found a funny picture while flipping through my photo album, and when I asked about it, she said it was a trendy MZ 인증숏 (proof shot). I was like, 'You take pictures from above like that???' Looking at it again, it was actually a funny picture, so I'm preserving it as a memory.
It was such a beautiful space that I thought it would be great to come back in the winter, imagining the courtyard covered in snow. I highly recommend Hadomun Cafe in Sokcho to those who dislike noisy and crowded places like me.
