A Taste of Cheorwon: Exploring the Odae Rice Festival

I was so excited to visit the delicious festival held in Cheorwon!
It's the Cheorwon Odae Rice Festival! This trip was supported by the Baeksukhyun Experience Tour. Cheorwon Odae rice is famous for its delicious taste, and the festival was abundant with things to see, do, experience, eat, and even amazing performances! Let me share the news of this fun-filled festival.
This year, it was held from October 17th to 19th at the Eunhasu Bridge parking lot in Cheorwon. It's the same place where the DMZ Market is held every week. I visited on Saturday, the 18th. It was a win-win situation because I could enjoy both the Cheorwon Odae Rice Festival and the DMZ Flea Market.
The festival was packed with people enjoying themselves. There were various events and activities to enjoy. I also went back to my childhood and had a great time.
Fortunately, the weather was great on the weekend, even though there had been a lot of rain. It was fun enough just to not have rain. The parking lot was huge. Parking attendants were guiding traffic from the entrance, so I was able to enter the parking lot following their instructions.
You can take pictures wearing traditional clothes. It was perfect for taking fun photos.
The traditional game experience booth also had a fun photo zone.
Many people were enjoying the festival. There were many families with children. Judging by the large buses in the parking lot, many people came on group tours.
The children were diligently participating in the activities. They were earnestly searching for treasure while being cheered on by their parents. Aren't they cute?
There was also a performance by a guest singer. The main stage in the center was hosting performances for visitors. Many people were enjoying the performance.
You can also browse various specialties representing Cheorwon, as well as various crafts. There were also experience booths where you could directly participate, which were very popular with children.
The food stalls were amazing. The atmosphere of the festival was even hotter with various foods. It was a common sight to see people waiting in line at each booth. I couldn't just pass by because the savory smell of oil was all over the place.
There were also many tables where you could eat the food you bought, so you could sit down and eat comfortably. It was easy to see people enjoying food at each table. When I come to a place like this, I can't just pass by pajeon (Korean pancake) and dongdongju (Korean rice wine).
Next to it, the DMZ Flea Market, which is held every weekend, was open. It was surrounded by tents, so you could look around even when it rained. It was nice to look around at the various items waiting for customers.
There were also many free tasting corners, which made it fun to look around. The Odae rice puff chips were crispy and so delicious.
There were also many handmade crafts. Recently, due to the Korean Wave, bracelets and keyrings in the traditional knot style are also selling well. The bracelet is so pretty, isn't it?
I looked around and bought Cheorwon specialties. The apples were also delicious, so I bought apples too...
The most important Odae rice!! I have to buy it. Delivery was possible, so I bought rice too. I can't resist the glossy Odae rice!!!
I also bought a cute keyring at the workshop and took photos at the photo zone while looking around the flea market....
It was fun to look around each booth, taste, enjoy, and buy... Market sightseeing is the most fun.
Even though the Odae Rice Festival is over, you can buy rice at the flea market that is held every weekend. It will be held until November, so it would be nice to visit on the weekend, right?
