Located at 627-10 Sanghwang-ri, Seobu-myeon, Hongseong-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, Hongseong Sky Tower is becoming a new landmark in the region. Known as the top travel destination in South Korea, Chungcheongnam-do offers a wealth of sights and tastes at every turn.

On a recent Sunday, I visited Hongseong Sky Tower, which has become popular among locals and tourists alike. This place offers a stunning view of the expansive Cheonsu Bay and has quickly become a must-visit spot, often requiring visitors to wait in line on weekends.

The entrance fee is 3,000 KRW for adults, but 2,000 KRW of that is returned in the form of a local gift certificate, making the actual cost only 1,000 KRW. This makes it an affordable activity, and the gift certificate can be used at nearby restaurants and convenience stores, adding to its practicality.

Upon entering, visitors are directed to take the elevator to the rooftop observation deck on the third floor before descending to the second-floor viewing area via stairs. This helps maintain order during busy times. The elevator ride takes about 30-40 seconds, and once I reached the third-floor outdoor observation deck, I was greeted with breathtaking views of the Cheonsu Bay coastline.

The open sea view was refreshing, making me feel as if I was floating in the sky. I enjoyed a panoramic view of the bay and Hongseong, although the cloudy weather made the scenery less vivid. Nevertheless, it was an exhilarating experience.

For a closer look at the bay, a fixed telescope was available for use at a fee of 1,000 KRW. After enjoying the rooftop, I moved to the second-floor observation area, which featured an indoor viewing space connected by a glass skywalk.

Walking on the glass floor was thrilling, as it provided a unique perspective of the bay below. The indoor area also offered seating, making it a comfortable spot to relax and enjoy the view, regardless of the weather.

When it was time to leave, I took the elevator back down to the first floor. Although the weather was overcast, I appreciated the promotional photos of the sunset at the tower, which is said to be beautiful at night.

I then walked along the deck path leading to the Mosom viewpoint, where the refreshing sea breeze invigorated me. This area allows visitors to see tidal flats during low tide and waves during high tide.

At the Mosom viewpoint, there was a boat-shaped photo spot that attracted many visitors. From here, I could see the Hongseong Sky Tower in the distance, and I wished I could have stayed longer to catch the sunset if the weather had been better.

Afterward, I headed to Namdang Port, about 4 km away, to enjoy grilled shrimp and fresh oysters before visiting the Namdang Sunset Observatory. The bridge leading to the observatory felt like walking on the sea, and it seemed like the perfect spot to watch the sunset.

In conclusion, Hongseong Sky Tower, along with its surrounding attractions, contributes significantly to local tourism and the economy. I highly recommend visiting Hongseong Sky Tower and exploring nearby spots like Namdang Port.
