Just when I thought it was autumn, the weather suddenly turned cold, making it feel like winter!
On days like these, there's a great place to visit, and I happily went there with my daughter... that place is Sokcho!
When I think of a 'staycation' in Sokcho, this place immediately comes to mind. Spending a day here, enjoying swimming in the warm, all-season outdoor pool, surrounded by stunning views of Sokcho and its nightscape, felt like a gift. The sky, filled with rain clouds, created a mysterious atmosphere. It felt like it could pour down at any moment, but thankfully, the rain subsided quickly. Thanks to that, we were able to enjoy our staycation even more. This place, where you can enjoy the views of Sokcho city and the sea, was the highlight of Home Marina Sokcho Hotel.
The rooftop outdoor pool was great with its warm water, and even better, right next to it was a place where you could enjoy a spa with warmer water. Many people were enjoying a half-body bath while taking in the night view. This alone makes Home Marina Sokcho Hotel a charming place.

Located in Sokcho, it's a popular place not only for travelers but also for those visiting for business. This is the entrance on the first floor. It was nice that it was directly connected to nearby restaurants and convenience stores. The space had a café-like feel, making it a great place to relax for a while.
Exterior
Located on a main street, it was easily accessible even for travelers without a car. There's a bus stop nearby, and being located in the city center, it was convenient to use the surrounding commercial area.
Parking Information
Parking is done using an elevator system. It was my first time riding an elevator with my car, so I was a bit worried, but the parking attendant kindly guided me, and I was able to move to the parking lot and park. My daughter was also amazed.
Check-in Center
You have to go to the second floor to check in. The seating area while waiting was nice. While I was checking in, my daughter was waiting here with the luggage.
I was drawn to the neat and well-organized atmosphere. Right next to the desk, there's a self-service bar where brewed coffee and tea are available. There's also ice in the ice maker, so you can choose to drink hot or cold beverages. It's provided free of charge, so you can use it comfortably at any time.
Entering the Room
The room type I stayed in was the Grand type. The large king-size bed was the first thing that caught my eye. There was a sofa and table by the window, and a coffee machine with coffee, as well as tea bags and an electric kettle, on the desk. The cozy atmosphere was nice, and the room condition was clean.
The separated structure of the shower room, toilet, and sink was also good. All amenities are provided. However, you need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste. If you didn't bring them, you can purchase a paid toothbrush in the room.
Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand wash, and body lotion were provided. There were also two gowns and two pairs of slippers.
I was so happy to see a coffee pot in the room. There were also three coffee capsules, so it was great to have a cup of coffee while watching the night view.
Two bottles of water are provided next to the coffee machine, and two more are in the refrigerator, so there was no inconvenience when using them. Mugs are also provided.
Overall, I really liked it. The lighting, atmosphere, bed, and bedding were all great.
Enjoying the All-Season Heated Rooftop Pool
As soon as I checked in, I changed into my swimsuit and headed straight to the 21st floor where the pool is located. Remember that you need your room key to use the elevator here. You can enter after wearing a wristband for pool use. There are also large towels at the entrance, so you can wipe off the water after swimming and move to your room.
I went to the pool as soon as I checked in, and we were the only ones there. People started coming one by one after we had been playing for a while. First, we jumped into the water to fully enjoy our time. The rooftop pool, which operates as an all-season heated pool, was warm enough that I thought it was the perfect time to visit. It suddenly got cold with the wind blowing, but the water was warm, so I didn't want to get out.
We took pretty photos and enjoyed our trip to Sokcho by splashing around with my daughter in the all-season heated pool. In addition to children's tubes, various water toys are available for free. This was also a great point.
In addition, there are indoor cabanas, so you can enjoy warm water play with the whole family even in the middle of winter. There is a separate fee for using the cabanas, but all other facilities can be used for free.
After playing to our hearts' content, it was already dark. More and more people are enjoying the spa. Playing in the water made us hungry, so we should go out for dinner.

You can use the pool until check-out with the wristband you wore when you entered, so if you want to enjoy a morning swim, be sure to keep your ticket.

The night view of Sokcho seen from the bed through the curtains was really beautiful. The lights from Cheongcho Lake and the surrounding buildings made the night even more splendid.
Seorak Bistro Breakfast
Breakfast is a must for a staycation! I don't usually eat well, but when I come to a hotel, I always make sure to have breakfast! Isn't that right? First, I start by looking around at the food.
First, I was drawn to the bakery corner as if possessed by the smell. It was nice to have so many types of bread to choose from. First, start with an American style~~
In addition, various other foods were prepared. There were Korean-style dishes and Asian dishes, so you could eat according to your taste. I slept well and went around 8 o'clock, and some of the food was already running low. I also liked that they refilled it right away before it ran out.
First, we started lightly and burst out laughing looking at each other's food. How can our tastes be so similar... I brought a bowl of rice noodles there. I shared it with my daughter and challenged myself for the second round!!!
For the second round, I lightly filled my plate with Korean food. I emptied two plates from the morning... It sounds like I'm gaining weight, right? Finish with fruit neatly!!!
Seorak Bistro breakfast was better than I thought. There were many types of food and the quality was good. Above all, it was so delicious that I overate.
There is also a gym right next to the restaurant. I went inside for a while because there were no users in the morning. My daughter, who has recently gained so much weight, started exercising.
