Revisiting Sinri Shrine, a renowned destination for travel, pilgrimage, and sacred ground in Dangjin City, alongside Solmoe Shrine. It needs no further embellishment. Parking is convenient, and accessibility is excellent.

With cafes, rest areas, and cultural spaces gradually opening, Sinri Shrine maintains its unique tranquility and consistently rewards visitors and believers with a positive experience.

As we transition from late November to early December, the autumn foliage has mostly faded. However, due to its expansive grounds and beautiful surrounding scenery, Sinri Shrine offers stunning views even on cold days.

Capture diverse compositions with the sharply rising museum building as the subject along the Stations of the Cross.
Personally, I feel grateful to Sinri Shrine because it led me to discover the hidden gem known as 'Segori Gongso,' which I'm visiting today.
Most visitors to Sinri Shrine arrive from Sinseok Intersection, heading towards Sinri Shrine. This route takes you along 'Pyeongya 6-ro' road.
About 500 meters before reaching Sinri Shrine, you'll spot a sign for 'Segori Gongso.' If curiosity piques, you'll want to explore it.
The village where Segori Gongso is located is called Samhori Village. You can even walk there from Sinri Shrine.
Parking is scarce within the village, so it's best to park at Sinri Shrine and walk to Samhori Village. The address for Segori Gongso is 'Haenamu-gil 18'.
The walk from Sinri Shrine takes about 14 minutes. A pleasant stroll along the rice paddies behind Cittanuova, located north of Sinri Shrine, makes for a great walking experience.
Seeing the Segori Gongso sign confirms that I'm on the right track. At first glance, its exterior looks different from other Gongso I've seen in various regions.
This likely indicates its age. While I typically associate Gongso with older-looking churches or Gothic-style architecture, Segori Gongso was built in 1935, which explains its unique appearance.
There was an explanation about Segori Gongso and a Beureugne Pilgrimage Trail stamp box.
Segori Gongso, along with nearby Sinri and Geodeori, formed a complete Catholic community even during periods of severe persecution of believers. It's remarkable that they could maintain a community amidst such trials.
During the Byeongin Persecution, the most severe persecution, the Catholic community was reportedly dissolved. However, new believers gathered, reformed the community, and, overcoming their pain, it became a major Gongso of Hapdeok Parish.
While the surrounding scenery of Segori Gongso is pleasant, its preservation seems incomplete. Since 2020, Dangjin City has been pushing for the designation of Segori Gongso and other old buildings as registered cultural properties.
However, Segori Gongso doesn't seem to be registered yet. I hope it gets registered soon so that preservation and some repairs can be carried out!
Segori Gongso feels hidden away, much like Eumseom Gongso, which I visited last in Dangjin. Pilgrims or followers of the religion may be familiar with it, but it's relatively unknown to general tourists.
When visiting Sinri Shrine, take some time to visit Segori Gongso in Samhori Village.
