A Pilgrimage to Achaga Gelato in Andong: A Delicious Adventure

Actually, the main purpose of this Andong trip was to visit Achaga, the famous gelato shop.
I wanted to go for the 'open run' (getting there right when it opens) but…♀️
After visiting Byeongsan Seowon, it was already 1 PM – the perfect time for gelato after lunch!
As expected, the line was incredibly long!
It was already a popular spot, but it's become even more chaotic.
It was a happy moment, seeing everyone waiting in line so orderly and feeling that Korea is indeed a developed country.
Oh no… most of the flavors I wanted were sold out!
Goodbye, Chuhui! Goodbye, Fig! Sob sob sob…
I ended up with Yangban Rice and Andong Sesame Oil,
Lemon Basil, and Mango.
If you choose a cup, you can pick two flavors!
Next time, I'm definitely getting a packaging box and trying 3-4 flavors.
I waited with a fluttering heart, watching them enthusiastically scoop the gelato.
The owner taking orders was also super friendly, and the service was fast. Achaga Gelato lives up to its reputation as a famous 맛집 (delicious restaurant)!
Even with four staff members working, the waiting time is immense, so they must be exhausted.
You have to wait at least 30 minutes – that's the reality.
Including the tasters, I tried a total of six flavors!
Personally, I prefer gelato over sorbet.
Especially the savory sesame gelato - it was incredibly delicious.
If I go again, I'm filling a whole packaging box with just gelato!
I was planning to go to Achaga again the next day, but…
An incident happened, and I had to leave Andong - a sad ending.
(The flavors at Achaga Gelato change daily.)
While waiting in line, I looked at the merchandise.
I wanted to buy socks, t-shirts, and a hat!
The autumn foliage in Andong was amazing too. When will I get to go back?
