Following my previous posts about the Sokcho Squid Street and Tto Mannjae Restaurant, I'm excited to introduce another fantastic lunch spot in Sokcho! While I often share travel content, my post about the Squid Street price trends really boosted my views. It truly made me realize Gangwon Province's popularity as a domestic travel destination, surpassing even Jeju Island! This restaurant was another challenge to book, requiring numerous phone calls to finally secure a reservation.

A trip to Sokcho in Gangwon-do often means endless waiting!

If you're looking for a delicious braised fish or skate restaurant in Sokcho, I wholeheartedly recommend Imo-ne Restaurant. Here's my review:

Operating Hours: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Break Time: 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Closed every Wednesday

Dedicated parking available!

Imo-ne Restaurant in Sokcho is a popular spot among both tourists and locals for its braised skate and fish dishes. However, securing a reservation can be incredibly difficult, especially during peak seasons and weekends!

Reservations open at 8:00 AM, but they don't accept reservations for two people; you need to order at least the medium size to reserve. It took me 100 calls to finally get through! But it happened just as I was about to give up. Timing is everything; I recommend calling between 7:55 AM and 8:00 AM!

The restaurant was larger than I expected, but most tables were reserved. Walk-ins were already closed for the day! The menu specifies the number of people per dish size, and if you make a reservation according to your group size, your food arrives almost immediately upon being seated! Since most reviews raved about the braised skate, we ordered that as well.

valuable experience

The side dishes seemed simple, but they were all delicious. The braised skate was visually stunning, and the texture of the skate as it was pulled apart was fantastic! The sauce was less spicy than it looked, and it paired perfectly with rice – I easily ate two bowls!

Interesting image

The large size was plenty for four people, and it was easy to flake the fish onto the rice, making it very easy to eat. If only reservations were easier to get and there was a braised skate place near my house!

Hopeful tomorrow

But I doubt it would taste the same as Imo-ne Restaurant in Sokcho... Despite the difficulty in getting a reservation, it was worth the hype, and I enjoyed a delicious meal. This was my review of Imo-ne Restaurant!
