The lush greenery of the arboretum was truly beautiful. As you enter, there's a small pond and a 멋진 pavilion. There's also a stone bridge over the pond, perfect for taking 감성 photos.
Parking Information
There's a very large parking lot at the entrance. As a major tourist destination in Dangjin, the facilities are well-maintained. After parking, walk towards the entrance to find restrooms and a convenience store.
Arboretum Walk
I took a moment to look at the map at the entrance. The arboretum was quite large. I was worried about having to climb steep hills, but the paths had gentle slopes, making it easy to walk.
Mugunghwa (Rose of Sharon) flowers were in bloom. I was captivated by the Mugunghwa flowers from the entrance and started my arboretum walk.
The signposts along the way guided me. I headed towards the visitor center. The gentle path made it easy to walk.
I paused to admire an unfamiliar flower. The large petals were unique. What's the name of this flower?
I also stopped by a temple on the way up. This is Seongdangsa Temple. I was curious about the '제석천도' and took a look. There was also a rest area for visitors where I could have a cup of tea.
This is the Children's Forest Experience Center. Facilities are available for children to enjoy forest activities.
The small wooden huts and 움집 were unique. I thought it would be a fun experience for children.
There's also a greenhouse along the way. The subtropical greenhouse had a variety of plants.
At the visitor center, there are restrooms and a cafe. There's also an elevator to the cloud bridge, which was great. I went to the cafe to cool off. It was time for a caffeine boost after lunch.
The cafe inside Samseonsan Arboretum was run by seniors. I ordered an iced cafe latte and waited. The aroma of the coffee was so good that I was captivated even before drinking it. The seniors were 멋지고 and polite, making me feel well taken care of.
I sat in the cafe to cool off and charge my phone, which I had been using to take pictures. There was a wireless charger on the table, perfect for charging while enjoying a drink.
A refreshing cup of coffee chased away the heat. The coffee was particularly delicious. It wasn't burnt, and it had a nutty flavor rather than a sour one, which perfectly suited my taste.
After cooling off, I went outside and saw the cloud bridge. Actually, it was a suspension bridge! It swayed even with a little movement, so I recommend holding on to the handrails. Young people were jumping up and down on the bridge.
The weather was great, so I enjoyed the beautiful sky and the green forest, feeling the comfort that the forest provides.
Samseonsan Arboretum was much larger than I expected. It had many areas, including a butterfly garden, wetland, wildflower field, native plant garden, cypress forest, coniferous forest, rock garden, Mugunghwa garden, dream garden, fruit garden, hydrangea garden, maple tree garden, azalea garden, oak tree garden, and wind garden. It's hard to list them all.
Additional facilities include a children's forest experience center, subtropical greenhouse, visitor center, foot washing area, barefoot walking path, zelkova tree rest area, white hydrangea path, crape myrtle rest area, kids' dream forest, water playground, forest library, and acorn play area.
Taking a large loop along the uphill and downhill paths revealed different views. I wish I had more time to see more because it was so great.
On the way down, I saw the ecological pond again. It looked different from the other side. I stopped to take pictures. It was nice to be able to rest in the pavilion in the middle.
I especially love water!
This place perfectly catered to my tastes, so I had to take pictures. I wish I had come a little earlier to see the lotus flowers in full bloom in the pond.
I also crossed the stone bridge over the pond. I could see fish swimming in the pond next to the bridge. I also liked that the bridge was made of flat marble, making it easy to cross.
I only learned today that there is such a beautiful arboretum in Dangjin. The slopes are gentle, making it great for a leisurely walk, and it's a great course to visit with parents. This is the perfect place for a stroll on a trip to Dangjin.
