New Express Bus Route Connects Gochang to Incheon International Airport
A new express bus route directly connecting Gochang County in Jeollabuk-do to Incheon International Airport has officially launched, offering residents a far more convenient way to reach Korea’s main international gateway.

Launch of the Gochang–Incheon Airport Express Bus
Gochang County announced on February 27, 2025, that Kumho Express would begin operating a new express bus service connecting Gochang Public Bus Terminal directly to Incheon International Airport.
The route officially started service on March 10, providing local residents with a direct and reliable transportation option to the Seoul metropolitan area’s main airport.
Daily Departure and Arrival Schedule
The Gochang–Incheon Airport express bus operates twice a day, departing from Gochang Public Bus Terminal at 12:05 AM and 9:50 AM.
The bus passes through Jeongeup and Gimje before arriving at Incheon International Airport, serving both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Scheduled arrival times at Terminal 1 are approximately 7:55 AM and 5:25 PM, while Terminal 2 arrivals are around 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM.
Why This Route Matters for Gochang Residents
Before this service was introduced, Gochang residents had no direct transportation option to Incheon International Airport and were required to transfer through nearby cities such as Jeongeup or Gwangju.
This inconvenience led Gochang County to repeatedly request the establishment of a direct airport route from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province.
Those long-standing efforts have now resulted in the successful launch of the Gochang–Incheon Airport express bus.
Expected Benefits and Official Statement
The Gochang County Mayor stated that the introduction of the Incheon Airport express bus will greatly enhance transportation convenience for local residents.
According to the county, the new route is expected to significantly reduce both travel time and transportation costs for airport-bound passengers.
The mayor also emphasized the county’s commitment to expanding public transportation policies to ensure residents’ practical right to mobility and to improve overall regional transport conditions.
Nationwide Context of Airport Express Bus Services
As of February 2025, a total of 26 local governments, excluding metropolitan cities and special metropolitan areas, operate express bus services to Incheon International Airport.
These regions include parts of Gangwon-do, Chungcheongnam-do, Chungcheongbuk-do, Jeollanam-do, Jeollabuk-do, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Gyeongsangbuk-do, reflecting the growing demand for direct regional access to the airport.
The addition of Gochang further strengthens the nationwide express bus network supporting regional travelers.
