Getting from Taoyuan Airport to Taipei City: Transportation Options and Tips

There are two main public transportation options for traveling from Taoyuan Airport to Taipei City!
You can choose between the Airport MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) and the Kuo-Kuang Bus.
Here's a breakdown of the costs if you purchase tickets locally:
As a general guideline, consider 1 NTD (New Taiwan Dollar) ≈ 46 KRW (Korean Won).
Public Transportation from Airport to Taipei City (Local Purchase)
Taoyuan Airport MRT (Airport - Taipei Main Station)
Round Trip: 320 NTD (approximately 14,720 KRW)
Both tokens and EasyCards are accepted.
Express and Commuter train fares are the same.
Kuo-Kuang Bus No. 1819 (Airport - Taipei Bus Terminal)
Round Trip: 280 NTD (approximately 12,880 KRW)
Both tickets and EasyCards are accepted.
An EasyCard is similar to Korea's T-money; it's a rechargeable card used for public transport and at convenience stores.
The Airport MRT is very comfortable and runs every 7.5 minutes, making it a popular choice for tourists.
Both the MRT and Kuo-Kuang Bus tickets can be purchased at a discount if you buy them online in advance.

Klook

Includes a 110 NTD Starbucks coupon.
MyRealTrip
Round Trip: Approximately 11,630 KRW
Includes an EasyCard (no initial balance).
I wanted to buy a cute EasyCard in Taipei, so I purchased my ticket from Klook. I used the Starbucks coupon I received from Klook at the Starbucks across from Din Tai Fung!
The perks included with MRT round-trip tickets on each site are slightly different, so I recommend purchasing based on which benefits best suit your needs!
Tips for Buying Cheap Flights
STEP 1
Check the approximate market price for your desired destination and departure point by entering them on the Modetour Group Buying Flights website.
Alternatively, you can determine your destination after checking the market prices for cheap flights to different countries.
STEP 2
Based on the group buying flight market price, check prices on platforms such as Triple, Skyscanner, and Naver Flights.
STEP 3
Select dates and times with reasonable prices and regularly check market prices and discount cards.
STEP 4
Quickly purchase a ticket if the price drops to or nears your target price.
The reason I check Modetour Group Buying Flights first is to see how low last-minute flight prices drop!
It's good for setting a base price because it's easy to check the price drop range as the date approaches.
I sometimes decide on a destination in advance, but other times I want to travel spontaneously, so it's convenient to browse countries with cheap flights!
Go to the Modetour Group Buying website, set your departure city and destination, and check the approximate prices in order of lowest price.
I also explore cheap flights recently by searching various countries!
This time, I purchased my flight on the Triple app to use my Nol Points, but I also actively use Skyscanner and Naver Booking.
I bought my flight to Shanghai last time through Skyscanner!
