Enjoy a Relaxing Chuseok Holiday with Free Highway Tolls and More!

Have you all set off for your hometowns?
Since this year's Chuseok holiday is quite long, I heard many people are traveling abroad.
I'm not going overseas, but I'm planning to stay at a hotel near my house and enjoy some relaxing time.
The holiday is so long that I'm already wondering what to do!
I'm thinking of staying at a hotel first and then maybe taking a trip around Busan.
I hope everyone has a fulfilling and enjoyable Chuseok holiday!
This year, various support measures have been prepared for those heading to and from their hometowns during the Chuseok holiday, including free highway tolls and free parking.
Let's take a look at the various support measures, such as highway toll exemptions, increased public transportation, and free public parking.
With highway toll exemptions...
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, all vehicles using highways from October 4th to 7th will be exempt from tolls. Hi-pass lanes will be automatically exempt, and general lanes will be processed according to the instructions at the toll booths.
The Korea Expressway Corporation forecasts that the congestion for those returning home will peak in the afternoon to evening of the 4th and 5th, and the congestion for those returning to the city will peak in the afternoon of the 7th. If you want to avoid congestion, it is best to depart between 3 and 5 AM or late at night. You can also travel more comfortably by using alternative routes such as the Jungbu Expressway, not just the Gyeongbu Expressway.
Increased Public Transportation
During the Chuseok special transportation period (October 2nd to 12th), extra KTX and SRT trains and express/intercity buses departing from Seoul will be operating. An average of 18,000 additional people can be transported per day, which should reduce the burden of long-distance travel.
In addition, the operating hours of the bus-only lane on the Gyeongbu Expressway have been extended by 3 hours compared to normal times, and it will be available until 1 AM.
Free Nationwide Public Parking
During the holiday period, public parking lots nationwide will be open free of charge.
You can check real-time parking availability on Shared Nuri, Naver Map, Kakao Map, and T Map.
Some regions also operate customized transportation measures such as extended late-night city buses and temporary cemetery visit buses.
In addition to transportation convenience, some cultural facilities such as national heritage sites, national arboretums, and art museums will be open free or at a discount.
I hope you all understand the information well and have a pleasant and rewarding Chuseok holiday!
