She revealed, "A year and a half ago, I went to Kenya with KBS as a World Vision ambassador and met two children. After their mother passed away, they were making and eating charcoal to survive."
The released photos show the two boys she met at the time, Daniel and Maurice, smiling barefoot alongside Jo Hye-ryun and her husband.
Recent photos showing them wearing school uniforms and smiling brightly have also been released, prompting many fans to leave supportive comments, calling it a "miraculous change."

Jo Hye-ryun stated, "I was so heartbroken to see them living in someone else's shed without shoes or a place to sleep. At that moment, my husband and I decided to take Daniel and Maurice as our sons in our hearts."
