Givenchy Founder's Descendant, Sean de Givenchy, Marries Dahye Jung in a Parisian Romance

Sean Taffin de Givenchy, a descendant of Hubert de Givenchy, the founder of the renowned French luxury brand Givenchy, has married Korean woman Dahye Jung, drawing attention from around the world.
A 'Family Wedding' at the Sainte-Clotilde Basilica in Paris
Last August, the couple exchanged vows at the Basilique Sainte-Clotilde in Paris. This church is an iconic location where the Givenchy family has held important ceremonies for many years. The wedding was attended by members of the French upper class and luxury industry figures, creating a buzz.
The wedding celebrations lasted for three days, from August 28th to 30th, and were praised for their blend of classic and modern sensibilities.
A Love Story Seven Years in the Making
Sean and Dahye first met at a freshman orientation event at McGill University in Canada in 2018.
At the time, Dahye was volunteering for the event, and Sean recalled, "I couldn't bring myself to talk to her when I first saw her, but when we met again, I exchanged numbers with the help of my friends."
The couple maintained a long-distance relationship, supporting each other's dreams. After getting engaged in New York in February of last year, they tied the knot in this wedding.
'Timeless Classic, Parisian Sophistication'
Regarding the wedding concept, Dahye Jung said, "What I wanted was a 'timeless classic with Parisian sensibility.' I gathered inspiration every weekend to create over 100 vision boards, and the planner perfectly captured my sense."
Her wedding dress, designed by Korean-American designer Andrew Kwon, featured an elegant strapless silk dress with a voluminous cape, showcasing both elegance and classic beauty.
Sean & Dahye, An Elite Couple's Life
Sean Taffin de Givenchy currently works as a Senior Analyst in Commercial Finance at Christie's, a global auction house.
Dahye Jung, after completing her MBA at Columbia University in New York, is working at 'Taffin,' a French jewelry brand run by Sean's uncle.
The couple's engagement and wedding rings are also known to be Taffin's signature jewelry.
The Historical Significance of the House of Givenchy
The luxury house of Givenchy was founded in 1952 by Hubert de Givenchy.
He gained fame as the costume designer for actress Audrey Hepburn, establishing himself as a legend in the fashion world.
Although it was acquired by the LVMH Group in 1988,
Givenchy's heritage and sensibility continue to exert a strong influence on the fashion industry.
This marriage adds another symbolic meaning in that it is a meeting of the tradition of a luxury house and modern love.
