Cho Woo-jong Passes Western Cuisine Chef Exam: "I Even Shed Tears One Day... Respect to All Chefs"
Announcer Cho Woo-jong has succeeded in a new challenge.
He has opened another chapter in his life by obtaining the 'Western Cuisine Chef' certification.
On the 21st, Cho Woo-jong posted on his Instagram, "Thank you for your congratulations! I passed the Western Cuisine Chef exam!" along with a photo certifying his qualification.
"Cooking is a great and noble thing."
Cho Woo-jong confessed that the process of studying for the certification was not easy.
"While preparing the dishes, I realized how great and noble this work is," he said. "Preparing for the exam was so difficult that I wanted to give up almost every day. I even shed tears one day."
He honestly revealed,
"No one recognizes it, so why did I start this and go through this hardship?"
He had that thought countless times.
But what kept him from giving up was 'cooking itself'.
"What brought me back every time were moments like neatly sliced ingredients, well-extracted broth, and perfectly cooked steak."
"I respect all the chefs in this land."
Cho Woo-jong conveyed his deep gratitude for cooking, saying, "I sincerely express my respect not only to famous chefs but also to everyone who lives day by day through cooking in this land."
He also did not forget to thank the production team of SBS <Same Bed, Different Dreams>, his wife, announcer Jung Da-eun, and his lovely daughter, Joo-yul.
"I couldn't have made it to the end without the support of my family."

Cho Woo-jong debuted as a KBS 31st class public announcer in 2005.
Since then, he has been loved for his witty remarks and human charm, appearing in various programs such as <Happy Sunday> and <Family's Dignity Full House>.
He is currently sharing his daily life as a broadcaster and father, juggling entertainment and radio programs such as SBS <Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 – You Are My Destiny>.
As of 2025, he is 49 years old and still does not stop challenging himself.
