Asia's Largest Blues Music Festival Coming to Seoul's Nodeul Island

Music fans are buzzing with excitement for the upcoming Seoul International Blues Festival 2025, Asia's largest blues music festival, taking place on October 26th at Nodeul Island in Seoul.
Marking its 8th year, the festival's theme is 'The Blues Island,' promising a unique experience with a diverse range of performances that blend blues traditions with modern interpretations.
This year is particularly special as the festival will be held outdoors for the first time. The festival will feature four stages: the Blues Rookie Stage, the Buzzing Blues Stage, the Signature Blues Stage, and the Seoul Blues Stage, spread across Nodeul Island Live House and the Seoga Rooftop.
Each stage will showcase a variety of artists, from emerging musicians to established blues bands.
The Blues Rookie Stage will feature Smoking Lee, a rising musician from Geoje, following in the footsteps of Ha Heon-jin and CR Taegyu, as well as Jeju-based Wednesday Off, and the O'Blues Band, comprised of musicians in their early twenties. These artists will offer a fresh take on the blues, connecting with audiences through their youthful energy.
The Buzzing Blues Stage will highlight currently trending bands. The Kim Juyeop Band will present a performance rooted in traditional blues, while the Kim Daeseung Band will showcase a new approach that blends Delta blues with contemporary blues.
Jung Jae Ho Band and soul blues band Soul Train are also highly anticipated.
The Signature Blues Stage will feature Yosuke Ishida, a dark horse of the Japanese blues scene, alongside renowned Korean blues musicians, offering an opportunity to experience various styles of blues. Artists like Ha Heon-jin and CR Taegyu will enrich the blues with their distinct sounds.
Finally, the Seoul Blues Stage will feature leading Korean traditional blues bands.
The Lee Inkyu Band and the Lee Kyungcheon Band will showcase the allure of the blues through their unique styles. Asia's premier blues guitarist, Shun Kikuta, and blues-rock band Lowdown 30 will also perform, bringing the festival to a grand finale.
Over the past seven years, the Seoul International Blues Festival has established itself as a leading blues music festival in Asia. This year, with the launch of the Asia Blues Foundation, the festival aims to mark a significant turning point for international music exchange and the promotion of cultural tourism.
This festival promises to be a valuable opportunity to rediscover the charm of blues music. Tickets are available through NOL Ticket, so be sure to check it out if you're a music fan!
