Imperial Hotel Breakfast Buffet: A Mixed Bag of Delights and Disappointments

Went down to the sauna in the morning, but it was closed! So, I went straight to breakfast, feeling a bit annoyed, lol.
Imperial Hotel is known for its breakfast, but it wasn't really 'amazing' LOL. Still, they had a good spread, so I enjoyed it.
Overall, it seemed like there were a lot of Korean-style dishes.
Only picked one thing from the salad corner, haha.
The Korean side dishes were plentiful.
They had salted pollack roe (myeongranjeot), which I enjoyed!
Chawanmushi!!
So happy to be able to eat chawanmushi for breakfast! I grabbed one right away.
I thought I'd get more, but I got full from everything else and only had one.
Skipped the dumplings.
They had smoked salmon, but I had it at the club lounge the day before, so I skipped that too.
Onsen Tamago (soft boiled egg)!!!
But just eating the onsen tamago by itself felt a little lacking.
Since they had spicy pork (Jeyuk), it would be good on top of rice or dipped in egg yolk with toast like the Singaporean style.
The stir-fried noodles weren't good.
The congee and fried rice were just okay.
They had a wide variety of eggs, including chawanmushi, onsen tamago, egg yolk scramble, and egg white scramble.
Egg station!!
They offered soft-boiled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, omelets, and fried eggs.
There was bulgogi too, and a lot of Korean-style food in general, so older folks would probably like it.
The tofu was terrible, so the braised tofu side dish was also terrible... sigh...
Kimchi pancake and grilled fish were available.
Sausage and hash browns!
A few cheeses and salami.
The bagels looked too much like models, lol.
It's a buffet, so it would be nice if they were pre-sliced. I couldn't eat a whole one, so I skipped it.
They had a surprisingly wide variety of breads.
Miso soup, regular soup, and porridge were also available.
Bread pudding!!! Love it....
The waffles and pancakes were good.
I also ate some fruit~~
They had an excessive amount of desserts for breakfast, haha.
It was raining, so I wanted something hot and soupy, so I got some rice noodles, but the broth was a bit too sweet...
The omelet was simple but tasty.

So, with about an hour left of breakfast service, they suddenly started slicing tuna sashimi in the Korean food area!!!
People were getting excited and crowding around, but they just kept slicing and slicing the tuna, stacking it up in piles.
Then they started slicing and stacking meat in the same way....
After waiting for a while, I realized it wasn't for breakfast and gave up.
I was wondering, this is the only kitchen here? If it's not for breakfast, why are they slicing it here?
If they're preparing for the next meal or sending it to another restaurant, shouldn't they be slicing it in the back kitchen?
After eating, I waddled out around 11am for my next appointment.
Went for a 'staycation,' but it wasn't really... that impressive..... haha.
