Discovering Cosmos: A New Wine Bar and Brunch Spot in Ikseon-dong
Newly opened Cosmos wine bar and brunch spot in Ikseon-dong!
Located on the first floor of the Tradup Hotel, I had the chance to visit it while staying there for a week.
Seeing it every time I passed by made me curious to try it out.
The cleanliness of a hotel setting adds a sense of trust, right?
The modern and simple interior of Cosmos was appealing.
However, I wasn't a fan of the backless chairs. We chose seats with backs instead.
If they replaced those chairs, I think they'd become even more popular!
We ordered quite a bit for two people:
Fresh Pasta: 18,000 won
Perilla Cream Pasta: 22,000 won
Grilled Chicken Skewers: 24,000 won
Today's Drip Coffee: 5,500 won (3 cups for 16,500 won)
Additional Campagne: 5,000 won
Total: 85,500 won
After about 20 minutes of chatting with my friend, the food arrived.
Let me share my thoughts on each dish!
Starting with the Fresh Pasta, I give it a 6 out of 5 stars. I love thin, cold pasta, and this one was just right. The sauce was incredibly delicious, with a slightly spicy gochujang flavor combined with olive oil, creating a sweet and tangy taste. It was so savory that we ended up ordering more bread to dip into the sauce. This was the best pasta I've had recently!
Next is the Perilla Cream Pasta, which was also tasty. It came with wide pasta and a rich cream sauce filled with perilla seeds. If you enjoy perilla, I recommend this dish. It was good but nothing extraordinary, so I give it 4 stars.
When we ordered extra bread, the owner kindly offered us a bit more of the sauce. The hospitality was wonderful!
As for the Grilled Chicken Skewers, they looked just like the pictures on the menu. Although there were only two skewers, they were larger than expected. The chicken had a nice smoky flavor and was tender, but I felt it was slightly undercooked. I give it 3.5 stars.
The drip coffee was just right, not overpowering at all. We even received a complimentary chocolate cake, which was a lovely surprise.
Even though Cosmos has just opened, I have a feeling it will become very popular. In the evenings, the place was bustling with people enjoying wine. I plan to return for dinner and slowly savor a bottle of wine next time!
Overall, I highly recommend Cosmos as a new brunch and wine bar in Ikseon-dong!
