To celebrate Christmas and the end of the year, I visited the dinner buffet at Le Meridien's La Palette Paris in Myeongdong.
Since it was a Saturday at the end of the year, the special price for two was 358,000 KRW!
The lower levels of the building were under construction, but I found the entrance by following the signs. After entering through the designated entrance, I took the elevator on the right to the restaurant on the right side.
If you arrive before your reservation time, they guide you to your seats and inform you that dining starts at 6 PM.
At 6 PM, they made an announcement that the meal service was available.
Buffet and Dining Experience
Wine and spirits were provided, along with snacks like cheese and ham, which were great accompaniments.
After a brief look around, I headed straight for the dining area.
Sashimi and grilled meats were prepared, and the sashimi was freshly cut on the spot. If you request, they will grill specific cuts of meat for you right there.
While there were other cuts, the sirloin was the most delicious, so I can't recall the others.
There were also various grilled and fried dishes, including boiled pork, braised short ribs, and kimchi stew. The boiled pork had a kick from the sauce, and the braised short ribs were truly delicious! My top pick was definitely the braised short ribs!
Other side dishes and pizza were available, but I didn't try the sides, and the pizza was just okay.
Special Dishes and Seafood
When I returned to my table, a special menu was prepared, and a staff member explained the dishes. The oysters were grilled, so there was no need to worry about norovirus, and they mentioned something about tuna, shrimp, and tofu.
While I was eating, they brought out lobsters. Eating the lobster was a bit inconvenient, but I love shrimp, so it was tasty.
I actually chose this place because they have snow crab!! Along with snow crab, there were also oysters and shellfish, but the snow crab was the most delicious. The meat was plump and flavorful!!! I wanted to eat more snow crab!!!
Strawberry Buffet and Closing Thoughts
Outside the restaurant, there was a strawberry buffet available for us to use. Everything looked delicious, so I brought back one of each type. The cake was decent, but the best was definitely the fresh strawberries. No dessert can beat fresh strawberries.
It’s a pity that I couldn’t eat more at the buffet, but it was nice to enjoy a variety of delicious dishes made with high-quality ingredients.
Since the prices for omakase and hotel buffets are similar, I think I will alternate between the two.
Next time, I should make a reservation at a more famous place in advance...
I made my reservation late, so my options were limited...! Still, it was a satisfying meal!
