A Fun Trip to Seoul
서울 마포구 동교동 152-9

As soon as I arrived in Taiwan, I worked for five days, took a day off, and headed to Seoul...
I’m staying at the Conrad Hotel, which I booked three months ago, with four friends I've known for almost 20 years (a bit creepy, right?) haha!
Right after landing, we headed to Yongsan for some fried chicken before moving on to Hongdae.
We got salt bread from Naturdo without any wait! (They sell them four at a time)
I should have eaten it right away, but I was too full and had it later, which was still delicious.
On the way, we bought some mochi. I thought I saw Dubai mochi in the reviews, but it wasn’t there. The taste was okay, but not remarkable. I’m not a big fan of mochi, but the limited edition one was really tasty. Maybe I was just shocked about the missing Dubai mochi haha.

We entered a super cute accessory store, and everyone seemed enchanted and bought something (I couldn’t buy anything because of budget issues).
The owner was so kind, and all the accessories looked handmade and beautiful. I plan to buy one next time I visit.
After grabbing a coffee, we headed to a workshop to make rings, which was our goal for the day.
We went to Mooum Studio. The reservation fee was 50,000 won, and I’m glad I found this place since the original one was fully booked!
The owner was very kind and explained everything well. We browsed through the designs and chose cubic stones. The first four were free, and any additional ones cost 4,000 won each.
Even though I planned to choose a design beforehand, I ended up just going with what caught my eye haha.
We rolled out the silver clay thinly and measured the size based on my index finger. It looked easy, but it was quite challenging. I had to press the stones in carefully, and if I made a mistake, it wouldn’t work. It was a bit scary for someone clumsy like me.
They said it would take two and a half hours. I thought it would just be putting in the stones and baking them, but it took longer as the owner checked each one. The baking and engraving also took time, so it’s best to set aside plenty of time for this.
While the owner was fixing and baking our rings, we took selfies in between.
After two and a half hours, we were done! They looked so pretty, each reflecting our personalities. We ended up with a second couple ring!
We rushed to Yeouido to eat Spanish food, and the sangria there was quite nice, perfect for those who enjoy a drink.
After eating, we were exhausted and headed back to the Conrad...
As soon as we entered, we were greeted by a red Christmas tree. It was my first time feeling the Christmas spirit!
The five-star hotel had a stunning ceiling, and I took a million photos. Everything looked beautiful.
Finally, we checked in. Since there were five of us, we reserved a connecting room. I asked in advance how to book it, and they guided me well.
Although I took a lot of photos thinking about the blog, I can only find pictures of our room and not the other one. One side had a king bed, and the other had two double beds.
The bathroom was spacious and clean, with Byredo amenities (though the scent wasn’t my favorite).
Why are hotel bathroom glasses transparent? (You can switch to frosted glass.)
We bought some tteok-bokki from Orange in Yeonnam for 5,500 won. It was just an ordinary taste.
We had fun and ended up ordering room service, and I don’t want to remember the price haha. I can’t recall the taste either, just the experience.
After a good night's sleep, we had breakfast. Why were there so many people at the hotel on a weekday morning?
After waiting for about five minutes, we were assigned to a conference room since there were no seats available.
The omelet I got was just okay, not as good as the eggs I had at Banyan Tree in Bangkok.
All the food was decent, but it didn’t seem worth the breakfast price.
We finished our time in Seoul with a visit to COEX Starfield. It was beautifully decorated!
That’s the end of our fun trip to Seoul! What should we do next year?
